Bruce Kieffer
Is there a shortcut to return to 0.00° from a rotated top plan view? I'm looking for a one-click method, like option click the plan rotation icon, or click the plan rotation indicator at the bottom left of the screen. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
+1 First, I need an ability to save normal and switch between at least one rotated angle. Second, I expect tat all Tools will work in rotated plan mode the same way as they would in non rotated plan mode !!! Not just in plan mode but also in all 3D views that need to be rotated at the same angle. Edited November 12, 2014 by zoomer Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
I just found that command+5 brings you back to top/plan, and you can click on the current view tool bar drop down and select top/plan, but I still feel that some one-click method is more intuitive. Jim, Unless there is a way to do this, then this thread should be moved to the wish list. Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
If you have been working in a rotated Plan view and then switch to a 3D view relative to that 3D view hitting the zero key once on the numeric keypad will return you to the rotated plan view. Hitting the zero key a second time will return you to the standard Plan View (ie. unrotated). Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
I don't have an extended keyboard. Quote Link to comment

zoomer
Hmmh, Am I missing something ? I thought I could see an additional rotated plan icon in the view control, but as soon as chose the normal plan view again , the rotated view button was gone and I had to rewrite the angle in the field to get my rotated mode back. Was that 2014 only ? Edited November 12, 2014 by zoomer Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted November 12, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 12, 2014 If a rotated plan has been set in the document before, it will remain listed in the view dropdown (not the View > Standard Views menu) and you can toggle between the rotated and normal views. I am not sure when this was added. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
OK, will try it again ... Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
The rotated top/plan view does remain in the tool bar current view drop down menu until you go back to standard (unrotated) top/plan view. At a point, it's probably best to use saved views to maintain the rotated settings. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
Thanks Bruce. That could be the first reason for me to try saved views Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
Saved views are very powerful. I use them all the time. 17 of them in my current work drawing!
