zoomer
Would it be possible to make the Class Drop down in Plugins like Door or Window Manager a little longer ? As we have the option to group Classes by the use of "-" like f.e. : Windows-Frame-Wood-Dark Windows-Frame-Wood-Bright Windows-Frame-Metall-Aluminium Windows-Frame-Metal-Steel We get quite long Class Names. But if the Names get cut in Drop downs like : Windows-Frame-Wo... Windows-Frame-Wo... Windows-Frame-Me... Windows-Frame-Me... I will miss the most important last part of the Class Name. This is even worse if you use names in other languages like German where the words are often longer than in English. Also, if you use any Class Name Groups, the Drop downs will always use the grouped Form, even if "Hierarchical Display" is deactivated in Navigation Panel. But it would often be much easier to choose from Non Hierarchical List, especially if the Class Hierarchy gets very deep and you have to click several times to reach the desired class. Would it be possible to either use the Hierarchy Switch from Navigator in other Class Menus of Plugins, or maybe even get a Separate Selection for each Plugin ? Also the display of the Hierarchical Tree, when I have a Class Names With a "Super Class" for the Wall corpus and Sub Classes for the Walls Components like : Wall Wall-Concrete Wall-Wood I would expect a Hierarchy like : Wall > >Concrete >Wood But I get 2 parent Wall Classes like : Wall * Wall >Concrete >Wood I only get the desired Hierarchy when I name my super classes like : Wall- Wall-Concrete Wall-Wood Which will give something like : Wall * >Concrete >Wood I don't think it should work that way as it makes the tree much harder to read. 0 Kevin McAllister
I agree that all of this needs cleaning up. Maybe Jim could move this to the wish list. Kevin Quote Link to comment
0 zoomer
Yes please, I didn't realize there is a wish list thread. Quote Link to comment
0 zoomer
So the 2015 setting to disable Class Hierarchy in drop downs is great. But the drop downs haven't got wider, to see longer Class Names in the Door/Window tools, right ? Quote Link to comment

Question

Would it be possible to make the Class Drop down in Plugins
like Door or Window Manager a little longer ?
As we have the option to group Classes by the use of "-" like f.e. :
Windows-Frame-Wood-Dark
Windows-Frame-Wood-Bright
Windows-Frame-Metall-Aluminium
Windows-Frame-Metal-Steel
We get quite long Class Names.
But if the Names get cut in Drop downs like :
Windows-Frame-Wo...
Windows-Frame-Wo...
Windows-Frame-Me...
Windows-Frame-Me...
I will miss the most important last part of the Class Name.
This is even worse if you use names in other languages like
German where the words are often longer than in English.
Also,
if you use any Class Name Groups,
the Drop downs will always use the grouped Form,
even if "Hierarchical Display" is deactivated in Navigation Panel.
But it would often be much easier to choose from Non Hierarchical List,
especially if the Class Hierarchy gets very deep and you have to click
several times to reach the desired class.
Would it be possible to either use the Hierarchy Switch from Navigator
in other Class Menus of Plugins,
or maybe even get a Separate Selection for each Plugin ?
Also the display of the Hierarchical Tree,
when I have a Class Names With a "Super Class" for the Wall corpus
and Sub Classes for the Walls Components like :
Wall
Wall-Concrete
Wall-Wood
I would expect a Hierarchy like :
Wall >
>Concrete
>Wood
But I get 2 parent Wall Classes like :
Wall *
Wall >Concrete
>Wood
I only get the desired Hierarchy when I name my super classes like :
Wall-
Wall-Concrete
Wall-Wood
Which will give something like :
Wall *
>Concrete
>Wood
I don't think it should work that way as it makes the tree much harder
to read.
Thanks
