Shape fill problem

I'm trying to fill a triangle with a green color at 50% opacity. I edit what I think are the appropriate changes in the class but I wind up with a 50% white background. Any ideas?

maybe duplicate the triangle and give it no fill, then just alter the opacity of the filled triangle in the attributes palette, group if needed

Check the object's fill and other attributes in the attributes palette are set to class.

I checked the attributes and they are set to "class". I can edit the class to do fills in patterns, hatches, and gradients, but not solid color. Weird!

Yeah, sounds like Vectorworks is misbehaving. Close and reopen is often a fix for weirdness. Try editing another class in the file if the specific class's fill colour menu remains absent.

I've had trouble with opacity by class and images. Perhaps the problem extends further.....

Can you post the problem object / file?

Ahhhh....

I had "Use Layer Colors" set in the document preferences.

Works now!
