jeffroyer
I have a sheet layer viewport with my proposed plan over-layed on a pdf of the existing site plan. When exporting the viewport as a new pdf, the site plan appears rotated and mirrored in the new export. Any suggestions on fixing this? thanks Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Have you tried the built in Mac Save As PDF accessible from the Print Menu? Quote Link to comment
jeffroyer
Peter - I just tried to do that but the typical Mac "save as pdf" option is not there. Seems like a great idea though! Quote Link to comment
jeffroyer
Incidentally, I've been having other bizarre behavior at times when exporting PDF's. Lines or notes shifting around. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Hi Jeff, So if you open your VW's file, then go to FIle>Print, then in the lower left of the Print Dialog there should be pulldown. See attached. If that pulldown is missing I would guess there is something weird with your OSX Install?? Quote Link to comment
jeffroyer
Peter - Yeah - that sub-menu doesn't come up. In fact, when I click on print, "page setup" appears. This makes me think that it is a Vectorworks install issue. Lately, I keep getting the pop up telling me a new service pack is available - and yet, I have the most up to date service pack. Perhaps it is time for a re-install! Quote Link to comment
jeffroyer
Peter, Yep, I'm officially a dufus. Clicked on through the first screen and found myself on the printer page with the save as pdf option. Worked brilliantly (unlike my brain today). Thanks! jeff Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Sounds like a typical Monday. Glad to hear you're back on track. Quote Link to comment
Benson Shaw
Wild guess: Could that rotating pdf export, etc have some connection to a fonts issue? A corrupt one or duplicates or something? Might be worth running Font Book to check both user fonts and system shared fonts. -B Quote Link to comment
Miguel Barrera
There is a known bug that rotates the pdf 180 degress when its opacity or the layer opacity is set to less than 100%. This only happens to me once in a while so I assume that it has to do with the way the original pdf was created. I doubt that it would be a font issue because normally it would just not print the text correctly. If the text does not look right in the exported pdf, it may be corrected by checking the option to "rasterize the text" in the export pdf dialog. Quote Link to comment
