Hakman
My worksheet is showing =ANGLE for the Roof Faces. Does anyone know the formula to convert Angle to Pitch so I can use it in my worksheet, Quote Link to comment
cwailes
I believe Using a Scientic calculator or Construction Master Calculator. Press the Tan button for any given degree on the plans and multiply by 12 and that will be your pitch. Quote Link to comment
taoist
Tan of angle x 12 Example: Tan of 22.62 degrees = .41666 .41666 x 12 = 5 pitch Quote Link to comment
Hakman
Thank you guys So do I use it on the worksheet like this? =TAN(ANGLE*12) but still getting a worng results An Angle of 32.01 and an Angle of 45 how do you make it format the results to 7.5:12 and 12:12 Pitch? Quote Link to comment
taoist
Hakman, I do not use Worksheets yet, so I can't help with the formatting. Seems to me create a column for the pitch after conversion or there might be a way to auto insert text after the conversion in the same cell. I am sure there are others at the Worksheet forum who can help you with this. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
The worksheet geometric functions (tan, sin, cos, etc.) work with radians not degrees. The multiply by 12 function works with degrees, so you will have to convert. I think the following is correct. =TAN(Angle*PI/180)*12 That is PI as in 3.14159 not P1. Quote Link to comment
Hakman
Thank you all, Pat =TAN(Angle*PI/180)*12 is perfect! Quote Link to comment
