Patrick Fritsch
I have a single wall that I'm trying to fit to 2 various roof slabs that are side by side along the walls length, but it only fits to the lowest roof slab when I run the command and ignores the higher roof slab... Is drawing 2 walls the only solution because it's a little annoying if windows/doord are required at these 2 wall junctions. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Seeing a screenshot of your geometry might be helpful. In general the "Fit To" command works in a sort of "line of sight" way. Imagine looking straight up along the wall's line and see which object(s) it will intersect. There are rare times when it gives odd results or just plain fails when there is more than one choice of intersecting object(s). You can also use the 3d Reshape Tool to manually fit your wall as desired. Go to a side view (or any 3d view); double click the wall; then you can Move a wall vertex, add a vertex or delete a vertex... Hope that helps. Quote Link to comment
Patrick Fritsch
Attached is the file, you'll see the wall going up to the roof with the shed dormer. Curious to see if you have the same problem. The 3D reshape tool is a good idea, but it's a little tedious. Quote Link to comment
bc
If I put the upper roof on a different layer say Roof-4(at same elevation) and first fit to roof on Roof-3 and then fit to roof on Roof-4 it seems to work. Is this what you are after? Quote Link to comment
Patrick Fritsch
Brilliant! I guess I need two roof layers . Thanks for this help Quote Link to comment
