markdd
Hi Can anyone help me with the routine to create a custom 3d Hybrid symbol that will behave like the stock symbols do in that they pan and tilt in 3D according to the focus point. (VW 2011) Many thanks! Mark Quote Link to comment
michaelk
You create them like you used to in 2010 and before with an added step: In the 3D part of the symbol, make sure you have exactly 4 objects. Use groups if needed. The parts should be 1) body of the instrument, 2) yolk, 3) base or clamp, 4) 3D locus. Attach the Parts record format. Change the appropriate field to true for the body, yolk, and base. Make sure the 3D locus is in the center of the body. It will be the source of light and the pivot point for the body. Make sure the body is pointed straight down. hth mk Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Tamsin Slatter Posted June 23, 2011 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 23, 2011 Hi Mark A good place to look for an overview on how to do this is Vectorworks Help. I'm not saying "RT!M", it's just that there is a great diagram in there that will help you. If you want a fuller tutorial, there is one in the Vectorworks Service Select portal, for VSS customers. If you want to know more, give me a call. Cheers Quote Link to comment
