new stair tool

I'm trying to draw a stair which is existing, in an old building, the stair does not comply with modern standards. I can't get the new stair tool to draw it, is there a way to around this problem? or do I revert to the old stair tool?

basically everything I try too enter in the dialogue boxes I get a error messages I've attached screen captures of the set up for the stairs using the old tool

Beanus if you post a drawing with the stair in it and a text block with the parameters of what you are trying to achieve it is more likely that someone will try to solve your problem.

There are some instances however where it is appropriate to use the Custom Stair tool instead of the Stair tool. This looks to be one of those.
