I just made a 12' line, selected the std tool and set loci at third points - results were: 3'11.52", 4' 0.96, and 3' 11.52! On a 99' 3.8" line the error was off by 12" - 32' 9.31", 33 9.229", 32' 9.31. Is there something about snap settings or other constraints that I need to know about? This has been a problem for over 15 years that I know of. I appreciate your comments. Quote Link to comment
bcd Posted September 28, 2010 Share Posted September 28, 2010 It works for me in 12.5 and 2010. You may need to turn some the other constraints off, eg, snap to grid. You could try with all constraints turned off with the exception of snap to distance and snap to object - to produce a reliable result. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford Posted September 28, 2010 Share Posted September 28, 2010 I just opened VW2008 Service Pack 3 on Mac, drew a 12' long line and then placed loci at the 1/3 points using the Along Line snap. All three sections were exactly 4' 0". Can you do a step by step explanation of how to repeat your test or even better make a screen capture movie so we can see what you are doing?
