Oyvind
Hi folks, I have a problem where the text in dimensions are obscuring the witness line. This occurs when the text is to long for the available space between the witness lines and moved to the outside by VW. The fix have been to adjust it manually. Is there a way to adjust the offset distance for text outside witness lines? Quote Link to comment
M5d
Only manually, just add a few spaces in the leader or trailer fields to shift the text left of right. Quote Link to comment
bcd
File>Document Settings>Document Preferences Dimension Standard - Custom to create a new standard Edit the custom standard. I believe herein you will find the settings you need and select this custom from the OI palette. Manually you can just click and drag the dimension value into place Edited November 17, 2009 by bcd Quote Link to comment
Oyvind
Thank you both for answering. There is no option for this in the edit custom standard dialog, and I was hoping to avoid manual edit. Does anyone know if VW2010 have the same issue? mike m oz
Vw 2010 has Dimension Collision Detection. There are some limitations with it though: It only works when you create the dimensions. Subsequent changes to the dimensioned object will require you to manually edit the dimensions as you do now. That is easier though because you can now select a single text entity and move it anywhere you want. If you change the Dimension Standard all of the 'collision' detection will be lost. The result is not very satisfactory visually with the offset text too far above the other dimension text. Quote Link to comment
Oyvind
Agreed, to far above. Nice thought though. Quote Link to comment
