Viewport Crop

Is there any other way to create a viewport crop other than using some type of drawn object? A viewport crop tool would be nice. Maybe it's there and I just don't know it.

I feel a "Create a Viewport Crop" tool would be easier and more intuitive.

when you get used to drawing the object and making it a crop, it feels intuitive. the problem with a create a viewport crop tool, it that is replicates other tools, but for a single use.

I think I found a better way for me. I create a viewport, then crop it on the sheet layer using the Modify/Edit Viewport/Edit Crop command. It seems easier to deal with the crop "shape" attributes that way.

Hi Bruce, I use several ways to crop a viewport.

From a 3d view

4 - drag a rectangle - set line-weight to 0 View>Create Viewport.

This doesn't work in Stacked views so

From a 3d stacked view or saved view -

View>Create Viewport and then - as you are doing Edit Crop and drag a 2d shape around the crop area.

From a perspective window obtained via the Walkthrough tool - adjust the

corner handles to the crop area and View>Create Viewport.

btw, I also find that from the Sheet layer>Edit Crop is a very useful place to adjust the viewing angle of a model using the flyover tool.

All of which reminds me - I really should create a shortcut for View>Create Viewport, it will save a lot of time.
