Dexie
I am trying to convert a whole load of .dwg files into Vectorworks. I can import them all in one hit into the same file. But is there a way of batch importing them as individual files and saving them with the same name as the original but with the .vvx file extension. If not in Vectorworks will Applescript do it? Christiaan
No, but it would make a good feature request. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Are you sure about the Christian? I just did a Import DXF/DWG. In the dialog box, I set it to do ALL files in Folder. In the Destination I checked the New Files in Folder box and selected a different folder than the one with the DWGs. I ended up with a munch of VWX files with the same names as the DWGs. I think this might be a Design Series Only feature that is not available in the basic VectorWorks. I think (but did not test) that if you have fonts in the DWG files that don't exist on your system or that have not been mapped in your system, you might get a dialog box that you will have to answer. If you try it, I recommend that you watch it for the first few files before you leave Friday night expecting to have all your files ready on Monday morning. Pat Quote Link to comment
