Create Angled Kitchen counters

Does anyone have any suggestions on creating kitchen counters? There are only a couple listed in the forum.

In addition to the counter tops that belong to the cabinet plug-in(s), there is a counter top tool. It works adequtely for simple shapes.

For complex shapes you can make your own hybrid symbols. Start with a polygon in top/plan view. Duplicate it and then extrude. Go to side view and move the extrude up to it's correct "z" height. Go back to top/plan and select both objects. Go to MODFIFY>CREATE SYMBOL...

You can also use Floor objects. These have the advantage they can be modified using Add Surface and Clip Surface. The Cabinet objects can then be used minus the Counter tops

The problem with floor objects is their inability to have textured sides. This has been a bummer forever...

Good point Peter. I rarely model them with textures so had overlooked that.

What we really need is an object that can be modified like a floor object can, but will accept textures to all edges.

Or you can use the space object. I always use a space instead of a floor when it need to be textured on the side

i use Walls for everything .. they allow Class control of Lt&Rtside&center textures... they are Hybrid ... and they actually work as advertised ; )

If only walls would allow compound cross sections...like base boards, chair rails, etc.

It's one of the things I really miss from ADT.

Since Walls don't allow for Variable profiles... ExrtudeAlongPath is the best option.
