Stacy
Is there any possible way you could un-link a layer link? Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Unlock the Layer Link and delete it. Quote Link to comment
vsd
Many people are not aware that even unlocked, the layer link keeps its "pointer" quality: mirror the layer it represents. Unlocked, you can move it anywhere you wish, and will keep on updating. This way you override the "originality" of VectorWorks: layers are always bound to their insertion point, who's related to the origin. You shouldn't move the origin, even if this is possible. I'm saying this, because recently I saw people working since YEARS with VW, who didn't know this was possible. And complained about the fixed location of layers. vsd. Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
You can duplicate and rotate layer links too - they will still update. They ae not croppable though, and you cannot manage them by switching which layers and classes are visible in them. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Layer Links are powerful ... as MMoz describes ... the addition of Links to VW was a major advance in the program... as an extension of groups > macro groups. Use of Links allows compositing of the Layers ... this is essential with WGR. Quote Link to comment
