batt insulation tool in odd shapes...

Question

so when I have 'fill void with mineral wool insulation' in a strange shaped void (normally triangular) the insulation bends and fills to fit...

Also, an insulation tool for rigid insulation/German way of drawing insulation (a continuous zigzag). It's a pain drawing a polyline!

Sarah, two ways of dealing with your problems:

1. Use a hatch or shading for insulation. You need to be careful using too much insulation in a drawing because it can dramatically increase file size and slow down screen redraws. One of the things that has been lost with CAD drawing is the skill of deciding what to draw and what not to draw at a particular scale. I use shading or a hatch on Plans and Sections. I keep the insulation tool for Details.

2. There is a Rigid insulation tool here kindly donated by Ryan McCuaig: http://techboard.nemetschek.net/ubbthrea...&Main=54803
