ghunter64
Does anyone know how to create a sliding door with only 1 door part? I am trying to model a dock door in a warehouse which just has one door part and slides horizontally on a rail across the top. I have tried inserting a door with "Slider" configuration but it has 2 parts. I want the door to slide all the way across the opening so that it leaves the opening fully exposed and the open door sits next to the adjacent wall. Thanks Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
As far as I know there is no way to do this unless you cheat a little. Try using a "cased opening" then modeling the track and door from basic extrudes. I think this will gve you what you want. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
there isn?t a standard VectorWorks tool for this, but you can make a symbol that will look like a sliding door across the face of the wall. You need to use 2D loci to define the 2D opening in the wall and 3D loci to define the 3D opening in the wall. This podcast covers the basic idea of using loci to make the hole in the wall. http://web.mac.com/jpickup1/iWeb/Site/Podcast/9CE3B836-5C34-47D8-B6D3-8CEE19816BE9.html Quote Link to comment
