Christiaan
It depends of which system you're using (Windows or Mac OS), and the keys are not specific to Vectorworks either. In Mac OS X degrees is alt 0, diameter is alt o, and radius is Alt p Quote Link to comment
jan15
In Windows, you get special characters by typing a 4-digit code on the numeric keypad while holding down the Alt key. The codes can be different for different fonts. You can find any code for any installed font by using the program "Character Map" which comes with Windows (Programs > Accessories > System Tools). In the font that I use for drafting, the degree symbol is alt-0176 and the circumference symbol is alt-0216. Quote Link to comment

Itchy
Can you use the symbols on this forum? in MS word? if they work fine in them then i would assume a setting has been changed in VW, thats if there is one, if you cant do them anywhere maybe its a computer setting rather than a VW setting. Ray Libby
Are you holding down the ALT key while you type the numbers? You can always copy & paste from Character Map. Quote Link to comment
panthony
cassey, If XP is not set up to recognize character mapping than you must do so. Check to see if you have the right set up...go to http://www.unicode.org/ and see what they have to say and also follow the windows help system to see how to set up your system to recognize mapping.
