Aggie463
I know this is elementary, but I have no idea how to render windows and other things with both glass and another material. How do I do this? Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Do you mean you want to have one material for the jambs/sills and another for the glazed area? If so, in the window SETTINGS there is a tab called VIEW and at the bottom is a pulldown called SPECIAL CLASSES. Assign STYLE 1 to the jamb, then go to the class setup dialog and edit the class called STYLE 1 so that it uses the desired texture at creation. HTH's Quote Link to comment
David_Ballantine
Peter, I'm also a new to Renderworks and am having trouble with window glazing. When you say widow SETTINGS, are you talking about in the Obj Info Palette? I cannot find a VIEW tab there or a pulldown with SPECIAL CLASSES. Where exactly are you refering to. Thanks Quote Link to comment
ionw
David, double click on the window, OR clock on the button Settings in the info palette. then in the window settings window comes up click on the view tab, HTH Quote Link to comment
Don@Black Dog
Peter's answer is most helpful, but what if we want to change the glazing, ie to make a screen or lattice appearance? Change the window class texture then restore the jambs with the Special Classes procedure? It would be nice to have glazing in the special classes options list.... Quote Link to comment
Michael_Eschenbach
I agree... wish list item.... it would be nice to have 'glazing style 1-3' in the special classes. It would also be nice to have glazing as one of the 'parts' in the special classes section. Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
You can guys, see this thread: http://techboard.nemetschek.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=UBB16&Number=61028 Quote Link to comment
Don@Black Dog
I tried that with a texture Katie had sent me, but it applied it to the whole window, not letting me isolate the glass. Unless I did it wrong... Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
I'm able to do it so I guess you're doing something wrong. Try creating a new file, draw a wall and put a window in it and then try it (i.e. rather than using an existing project). Quote Link to comment
