Tom K
How do I move the door ID tag. I clicked on the "On Schedule" button in the Door PIO, this placed the door number on the drawing. However in a couple of places I want to move the number from the centre of the door. Quote Link to comment
Tom K
Nevermind, I tried to drag the tag out of the way and it kept moving the door out of the wall, so I went away to have a little meltdown, and when I came back it worked. Quote Link to comment
Travis
Tom, It's easy to "grab" both the tag and the door. . .which would move the door with the tag. Just make sure you only have the tag selected. Also, just so you know, the Door Schedule is linked to the door NOT the tag. Changing the tag won't change the schedule or the door. Any changes, say to a door ID, have to be made on the door's Object Info Pallet-Data tab. This all is a good reason to delay tagging doors/windows/etc until as close to the end of the project as possible. Good luck, Quote Link to comment
Michael_Eschenbach
When you place a door or window object into a wall, there are four blue squares at the four corners of the door and one dot in the middle. If you select the center dot, you will be grabbing the door or window id tag, and you can move it anywhere you like. good luck Quote Link to comment
Don@Black Dog
So how can you move a door or window in a wall accurately (not just click and drag) without moving the whole wall? IE, grabbing a door and doing ctl-m moves teh wall also. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
MKingsley
Use the "Position" button in the OIP of the window or door . Quote Link to comment
SCA
Speaking of Door Tags. Here's the scenario. I have 20 doors, and have tagged them to a schedule. When I go to the schedule, I have 6 copies of each door, ie I have 120 door descriptions, not 20. I cannot figure this out at all and where the problem might be. Any suggestions? Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted July 13, 2006 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted July 13, 2006 SCA, if you're using VW12, go to the row header of one of the doors, right-click and choose the "Select item" command. This will select the item represented in your schedule and may help you understand what's going on. Quote Link to comment
Guest
SCA - It sounds like the door or floor plan was duplicated 10 times - did you ever duplicate the floor plan? Quote Link to comment
SCA
Thank you Robert, That has definitely gotten me started to figuring out this craziness that someone left me with. I am seeing that there are doors on hidden classes/layers I would have never thought they would be on. Hopefully, it will all smooth out. thanks again! Quote Link to comment
SCA
Thank you for the advice. I am turning on all the layers and classes to determine if that is the case. Hopefully other layers will pop up that I can delete. Quote Link to comment
