Matt_McCormick
How can I create a page with multiple viewports as well as a 2d cad block layer? I have been through the help file and had no luck. Everything about cad blocks only related to the mechicanal version of vectorworks. Quote Link to comment
C. Andrew Dunning
Matt - What do you mean by "2d cad block layer"? VPs can be 2D plan or any "flavor" of 3D. Are you meaning a key or legend? Regards - Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
"Cad block" is not a VW term, you may want to read up and clarify. Quote Link to comment
Matt_McCormick
Cad block was the wrong word. I mean a title block. Anyways, is it possible to have a 2d layer stay flat (2d) in a 3d view? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted June 5, 2006 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 5, 2006 Yes, all 2D only objects will project onto the screen plane in a 3D view, check the project 2D option. But, the standard method for placing title blocks is to place them directly on the Sheet Layer along with the viewports. Do not include the title block in the viewport. Quote Link to comment
C. Andrew Dunning
Understood... The approach that I take is to create a VP just for the key/legend items. That VP's scale is then set to match that of the main VP whose symbols it is "explaining." I have a script or 2 that automate this somewhat... Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
Use the method that Kevin Lindsay has mentioned, place the title block(drawing border) directly in the sheet layer. If you use the standard VectorWorks Drawing border it can be cusomised easily.... Quote Link to comment
C. Andrew Dunning
Jonathan - You're right... I should have thought (and read) a bit more carefully before I typed. The blocks themselves DO live on the Sheet Layers. It's some of the content that I VP in. And that's for the legend/key only...not the title block... - Andy Quote Link to comment
