Delmer
Yes, when I stick a window on a wall I generally want it inserted, but stairs and cabinets popping into walls is not right. Quote Link to comment
0 CipesDesign
If you deselect the "wall insertion mode" option, in the upper left section of the drawing, objects will not insert. Hope that helps. Quote Link to comment
0 mike m oz
Peter's way is the quickest and easiest. The other option is to use a different Class to the walls for your objects (you should be doing this anyway). If you draw with the Class Options set to Show / Snap Others the symbols cannot interact with the walls (the same applies to Plug-in objects). 0 Delmer
Both Very helpful, both I was aware of but for some brain fart reason had forgotten -though I have to admit I haven't toggled between Class Option modes much. Thanks for pointing out why I should. Quote Link to comment
0 Petri
Still, this is a serious design fault in PIOs and symbols. Quote Link to comment
0 mike m oz
I agree with Petri Only doors and window PIO's and symbols should interact with the walls. Almost verything else shouldn't. - Snap to the wall yes. - Become attached to the wall no. You can present a case for columns and pilasters to also interact with the walls but for me snapping to the wall would be sufficient. Quote Link to comment
