djobbins
Hey folks, I'm trying to do something that I thought I knew how to do but I guess not. I have a 3d model on a design layer. I'd like to create a viewport of it in front view so I can draw over top of it to add 2d symbols, text etc. Almost like I would in the annotations section of sheet layer viewport. Whenever I create the viewport on my design layer my viewport view options are greyed out and the viewport just matches the view of the drawing Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
A Viewport on a Design Layer will take on the settings of that Layer for the view. Are you really running VW2018 as your signature says? If so, then you could turn off Unified View so you can have different views for each design layer and put your model on a layer in Front view and a layer in Top/Plan over the top that you could use for your other things. But as you say, this is probably better done in Annotations in a Sheet Layer Viewport. Quote Link to comment
bcd
Create a Section Viewport of the model on another Design Layer, Choose Display Flattened in the OIP 1 Quote Link to comment
