Backup file is crashing!

My main file is crashing Vectorworks, and my backup file from about an hour ago is also crashing the program. My program is up to date, and I've restarted my computer AND the program. Edited to add that I am updating my OS software on my Mac right now. The termination reason given in the report is: Namespace SIGNAL, Code 11 Segmentation fault: 11

 

I hesitate to copy/paste the entire report here as it's pretty long. But I will if requested/needed.

 

Thoughts? Solutions?

Want to add I am running Vectorworks 2024 on mac OS Sonoma 14.2.1 (23C71). Vectorworks opens, but the particular file is what is crashing the program.

I’ve had this happen once or twice, sometimes files get so broken the only thing you can do is try to recover the file.

 

1) Hopefully you have more than one backup file and you can try and find an older one that doesn’t crash Vw.

 

2) If that is not the case, you could try to recover the file using the ‘layer import’ tip described in the following thread. It may or may not work for you. The last time I tried this it didn’t work for me; it kept crashing when I tried to import the Layers.

Thanks! I tried the import and it brought in most of my design layers except one, so all is not lost. Perhaps the one that didn't import was the problem? I made a new file and will do frequent, multiple backups. Thanks again.
