hollister design Studio
I've been having issues with the new update on windows 11 The updater keeps getting errors and stopping - when I finally got it to move forward by restarting it many times, it got stuck at 99%. I can't quit, cancel or launch (without using the task manager to end it). Thoughts? Quote Link to comment

0 adriandurlester
A furhtwr update. I can open Vectorworks 2024 and it shows it is running 1.1. I then cloed the updated with task manager. Hopeful everything will run smoothly from here as I'm in the midst of an improtant project, but hopefully Vectorworks will address this issue quickly. Quote Link to comment
0 hollister design Studio
@adriandurlesterI closed everything, restated computer and now VW is showing 1.1 too. Not a good thing to see an update stuck with no way to exit or restart from the app. Having to resort to killing it in the Task Manager is a bit frightening... Quote Link to comment

0 Administrator JuanP Posted November 9, 2023 Administrator Share Posted November 9, 2023 We have yet to be able to replicate the problem in-house. If you could provide us with the UpdaterLog.txt file in the Vectorworks 2024 folder, that would help us to identify the issue. In the meantime, please add the updater to your firewall or turn the firewall off before running it, and let us know if that works - thanks Quote Link to comment
0 hollister design Studio
hey @JuanP where should we upload the UpdaterLog? Quote Link to comment
1 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Tim Ardoin Posted November 10, 2023 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 10, 2023 Hey everyone - good news. We were able to reproduce the problem locally, and a fix to the updater is now live. The problem was during cleanup, and other than having to force the Updater app to close, should have no other adverse side effects (the update will have completed successfully, and no large files should be left behind). Thank you very much for the reports and sorry for the inconvenience! 4 Quote Link to comment
