Popular Post Kevin K
"Lets twist again like we did last summer" !.... You would need to be an old dog like myself to understand that song reference 🙂 That said, I created two wrought iron Night Stands / End Tables and used the Deform tool on a section of the table legs... That tool came in very handy by putting a little 'twist' to the metal on the upper portion of the legs.  5 Quote Link to comment
VIRTUALENVIRONS
Great work Kevin, Â This diamond Ring doesn't shine anymore.....remember that one. Â Different take on the twist thing. Â 2 Quote Link to comment
Kevin K
@VIRTUALENVIRONS....you are wayyyy ahead of me when it comes to 'twisting' 🙂 1 Quote Link to comment
VIRTUALENVIRONS
But your designs have a certain "Shimmy". Â Nice designs. Â I am curious about how your "Ventures" are going with the private sale of your models? Â I am still pondering this. Â Paul Quote Link to comment
Kevin K
Paul You are definitely dating yourself with those 'dance moves' references 🙂 You still an expert doing the 'Mashed Potatoes".... remember that!  That was like in Jr. High in my days 🙂  Uh, not a lot of action with the 3d furniture offerings on my site.  I didn't really expect much.  It was more just an exercise to 'do it' I am pretty sure it would be difficult for the average Joe VW user to stumble onto that area of my webpage.....unless I hit them over the head with it 🙂 No worries buddy...as I mentioned, it was just fun and interesting for me to go through the process. Plus, those 3d furniture pieces that I created are mainly for interior renderings...not so much for top plan views. etc.   1 Quote Link to comment
mjm
@Kevin K—those wrought iron pieces look fab Kevin. Nice work. Quote Link to comment
Kevin K
@mjm yeah, it was somewhat satisfying making those legs. I am sure it was nothing a pro like yourself could not facilitate 🙂 Quote Link to comment

Vectorworks itself has so many youtube sites, etc., that anything with Vectorworks in the name gets buried on page 62.  Some people have found my channel, but I think it may be from 3D people who subscribe to my other sites.  Traffic is low.  I took a look at TurboSquid the other day.  I haven't looked for years as I don't really have a use for it, but the world seems to be available at $25 a pop.  Below is a model I plan to contribute to the Vectorworks store, but you can buy entire sets of handles for $40.  Granted they are scanned, so not unique, but a lot of stuff out there. Kevin K
Yep, lots out there, for sure. Explain to me exactly what is shown in the image you posted… 1 Quote Link to comment
VIRTUALENVIRONS
It is a Drawer pull for bedroom furniture.  The small part fits in the centre hole of the larger part.  You can have the model if you like, it is going to VW's store eventually.  This was a proposal from Vectorworks for a tutorial, but in the end it did not make the cut.  Below is a short movie showing it together.   1 Quote Link to comment
Kevin K
Ah, ok, got it… would it perhaps be a good idea to place it on a drawer, to show it off a bit more? 1 Quote Link to comment
jmcewen
The deform tool has changed how I do so much of my work. I have only been using it for a couple months, but just learning that it exists has changed my entire style. I find some way to use it on almost everything now. 2 Quote Link to comment
