Data tag leader line position

Hi, I'd really apprepriate if you could help me with it:

 

I have existing trees, I've made own data tag style for it. (built in existing tree tags are quite unflexible)

My main problem with it: the leader doesn't points the middle of the symbol (trunk), when I choose all eligible mode (automatic tagging) . I cant guess why. 

Second question: is there a way to avoid tag overlays? Or do I have to correct it always manually?

Do you have an X/Y offset applied in the 'Auto-placement' settings for the tag?
