hollister design Studio
My Wire Rail style works ok with the standard guardrail layout. But when I try and do stair rails or guardrails at a slope all the horizontal members (top rail and all infill) become flattened in the z dimension. Vertical members (posts) are fine. Is the just how the railing tool works, or do I have a setting wrong? Simple file with railing style: Wire Railing.vwx Both sections are the same style: Wider Shot: 1 Quote Link to comment
0 Tom W.
I've had many issues with the Railing/Fence Tool in 3D mode (e.g. ... ...) but not what you are seeing. I tried with a few of my saved Railing/Fence symbols + couldn't replicate the issue. I don't know what's particular about your configuration to be causing it. Bizarrely, if you take the offending section of fence, rotate it by 180 in Top/Plan, then reverse the height settings so it's -3' at Height Point 1 + 0" at Height Point 2 it displays correctly (albeit with horrible gaps which I think is just an unavoidable feature when the fence is at a steep angle...: This can be remedied somewhat by disabling 'Top rail ends at posts' + setting the start + end extension values to 0": Best to file it as a bug I guess... 1 Quote Link to comment
