Josh Schulman
Is there no boom base symbol in Spotlight? I thought that I had seen one there before. I might be mistaken. Also, how would you go about creating a verticle truss instead of a horizontal truss? Thanks Quote Link to comment
kacey1
No, there is no boom base symbol in SpotLight-I'll put it on my list for the next version. To create the truss, you need to change the hanging angle in the OI palette to 90deg. Eric Chenault
Kacey, Wouldn't it be cool to have a tool to draw a boom? or a ladder? Can the truss tool be customized to do this? Can the truss tool be customized to do this? The truss can be configured to draw a ladder. Choose the flat truss option for the truss profile and then set your lacing diameter to zero and adjust your ladder bar diameter and spacing. Voila a ladder. The hanging angle parameter will let you stand the ladder on end. A simple boom object would be a pretty good addition. I'll add it to the wishlist. ------------------ -- Kevin Moore --------------------- Product Manager VectorWorks SpotLight --------------------- Quote Link to comment
cwojo23
I can only see a USITT accessory as a boom base - this doesn't make any sense to associate a boom base with a fixture - is there not just a plain 50lbs boom base we can then specify the upright and possibly the horizontal(s) on it for hanging positions? BenV
@Rob Books - Altman sent me this CAD a while ago when I was curious on the same thing - I made that VWX while I was still a student so it's watermarked, but here's Altman's CAD and PDF for the B50 base. Now a days I nerd out much less and just extrude a 24" dia. circle up 2 inches and keep the poly count down... lol. B-50-DIMENSONS.DWGB-50-DIMENSONS.PDFBoom Symbol.vwx Quote Link to comment
