dFA
Hi All, Newbie-ish member here - still on learning curve but enjoying the program very much so far. Question about best method to transition the exterior surface texture of a wall mid-ht (in this case the only thing changing in assembly is the stucco colour). Is this possible to do in VW ? Attached is a screen snap from my Sketchup model to show what I am trying to achieve - the upper portion of exterior wall surface is to have a light coloured stucco finish in the same plane as the darker stucco wall surface below. I am rebuilding the model from scratch in VW23 - would rather not create 2 separate wall types to achieve this visual effect if simpler technique available. Thanks for any suggestions dF Mid Wall Stucco Colour Transition.pdf Quote Link to comment
Jeff Prince
Unfortunately, Vectorworks does not do vertically stacked wall components yet. It's something we have all been asking for. Solutions? Use two separate walls or Use this trick: Quote Link to comment
michaelk
@jeff prince is correct: you can't directly stack wall components. (yet?) But in many cases you can fake it. I've used a .1" thick component with a top offset to the bottom for doing what you are trying to do. I've also been successful using a much thicker component when the base of the wall has a brick or stone cladding. Stacking Wall Components.vwx 1 Quote Link to comment
