Matching document coordinates across multiple drawings

Is there a quick way to create a new file and have its internal origin match that of another?

At the moment I have to copy and paste the long/lat coordinates from the georeferenced file to the new file and its a bit clunky.

I do this to set up imports of Autocad and Revit files into VW.

Thanks

Specifically needs to be Internal Origin I'm afraid. The process I've been using is to change the georeferncing which isn't too onerous and does the job but just wondered if there's an option to import the geo-ref coords from another file instead of copy and pasting them between files which you have to do for latitude and then longitude so its a bit back-and-fourth and slow.

Would this work?

Make a project specific template file? Open new instances as needed.  Couple ways come to mind:

1.  Duplicate a project file.

Delete all but one layer. Name it Base, or GeoRef Layer. This layer retains the project georef and origin status.

Delete all geometry in this layer and place a Lat/Long stake at internal origin and another at user origin.

Add other relevant project stuff as desired, eg the project prop line or LOD line?

Select/Lock all the geometry in Base Layer.

Dupe this Base layer.  It retains all the georef status.

Unlock/delete the all geometry, rename it ACad Import

Dupe ACad layer, rename Revit Import.

Save as template file.

OR

2. Start with a new blank file.

Georef with project CRS.

Geolocate to place internal origin via lat/long fields at right side of the georef dialog.

Create a Base Layer and Import layers as above.

Save as template.

Anyway, concept is a template file with required origin status and base objects.

Base objects verify location/scale coordination with the imports.

Import layers can be duplicated as required for new imports.

If needed, Base layer can be hidden or unlocked and deleted prior to dwg or rvt export.

It's a long ways to the origin. And a long ways back.
