Blank document preferences need to be changed to metric: how?

This is such a small issue, but the fact I cannot find a way of fixing it is really frustrating!

 

My VW Spotlight default drawing is opening with units set to feet and inches, when I want it set to metric units.

 

I cannot find how to change the default settings for 'Create blank document' anywhere, as I assume these are also the settings VW uses when starting up.

 

I'd appreciate a pointer as to where I can change this as I cannot locate this in the online help.

Jon, go to...........File / Document Settings / Units...then change to what you need. Having said that you're on a fairly old version of VW. I'm not certain things are exactly like what I've mentioned here but should be similar. This screenshot is from VW 2022.

If you create a new file with the unit settings you want then save it with the name 'Default.sta' in your templates user folder then this will be the file which will open each time you choose New > Create blank document

Thank you everyone - I can't work out why it suddenly flipped to the feet and inches, when it used to be in metric before.

 

I'll resave the default.

I have the same issue, On my MAC at work it creates a blank file with Feet and Inches, if I work from home on my Windows machine it creates the blank file in Metric as it should, then on my MacBook Pro, Started as Metric and for some reason now it's on Feet and Inches... (the version of VW is the same across all machines Vw2022 latest sp)

 

I know I can create a template and use it all the time, and there is also a Blank Metric template also there, but I just want to understand is where/how/why this happens??
