Hi all, I need to create a worksheet for local government compliance. In the past I have been doing this manually and I'm over it. In the worksheet I need to show the total number of plants and of that how many are natives and how many are exotics with percentages in the next column. I have been labelling native / exotic in the Comment 1 field of the Plant Style. I also need a total of how many species and the percentage that are native vs exotic. I have tried to work the problem with no solution.... maybe it can't be done. See attached as how I think the layout should look like.

Not sure if its being documented anywhere, and can't seem to find in help articles, but does the Data Visualization Object Criteria settings disable 'Location' by design? or is this a bug?

My head doesn't compute the criteria interface properly. My criteria needs to be all symbols called Support_Plates on layer 1-Slab C1 and 1-Slab C2. Why does this: Turn into this?

Hello vectorworks community, I wonder how to achieve something like this: Have one symbol that its text parts are linked to one record format fields. It act as a container for storing of informations about any specific project that somebody in office was working on. Its about logging working time on daily bases...filling calendar. Informations consist of: Project ID, tasks worked on, time spent on working task, drawn by etc. Now I want to collect data through worksheet database particularly overall time spent on specific project for specific project phase. I wish I could type into one designated cell within worksheet field value (Project ID) and that way control criteria of database results. So the results show only items (symbols) where same Project ID is checked. Then whenever I need to type in different Project ID and get different results. Everything happening in one worksheet. I see that in some Preformated Reports materials quantity - take off you can type name of material directly into database header and get quantity of that material...yeah this is something closer...but i wish to have one cell apart of database where i could type in Project ID and control one database or even few databases (differ by project phase for specific project) results same time. Any idea how to achieve something like this. Is it at all possible? Thanks a lot for any input.

Hello community, I wonder is there a way to rename multiple database row criteria (using same object style name) in same worksheet in one action? As you can see in attachment, I have a structure of wall (can be slab, roof..) with 10 components, but each component is directed to the same style name OP02. If i want to list all components for lets say different wall style with name OP03 I have to go to change it 10 times in database criteria...and thats tedious. Also I dont want to have preformatted worksheet for 10 - 20 different wall/slab/roof style in one building. So any thought or put it other way is there a better criteria approach for calling components with simpler criteria setup? Maybe script would do it? Thanks for help.

Hi, I'm creating my reports and to do so I need to sort my wall styles by name. Even though the wall style name is in the list of possibile answers, when I try to use the "starts with" or "ends with" "contains" etc the answer is always wrong, it is either zero or all of them. Am I writing things the wrong way and/or with the wrong syntax? Is there any other way to sort wall styles in the same class and in the same layer? Thank you in advance Martina

Hey guys, I'm trying to isolate my door objects that have the number "1" for its ID Label value. However inputting this into the criteria window identifies objects that have 0, 1, 2, and 3 for their ID Label values. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Raymond

I would like to create a worksheet of all the Viewports in my drawing and most specifically what scale they are. Available criteria for viewports are limited. Is there a worksheet function I could use to achieve this? Many thanks. Mark

I am trying to create a worksheet with multiple formulas in it. For this I need to be able to search different criteria in each column. The type is spaces. What is the order of the text I need to input into the cell to pick up with the criteria would do in a database row? I have looked through all of the following places and it is not very clear to a novice. http://developer.vectorworks.net/index.php/VS:Function_Reference_Appendix#attrCrit http://developer.vectorworks.net/index.php/VS:Search_Criteria#Search_Criteria_Format http://app-help.vectorworks.net/2016/eng/VW2016_Guide/Worksheets/Worksheet_Functions.htm Thanks!

Hello, I have a worksheet that functions as a "Sheet Index" and I'm trying to simplify the criteria that shows the active sheets. Presently my sheets have a numbering system that places an "X-number" and when I ready to have them show up on the Index, I change the X-number to a letter different than X. The only way I have been able to make the sheets no so the I recalculate is to add the criteria (Layer/is not/X-and the exact number) for each sheet. I Would like to be able to specify all the "X-" and have them not show with a single criteria. I have tried Name, Field value etc.. but haven't figured out how to make this work. I'm asking this because for some reason the edit criteria dialog window will no longer let me keep doing this. It's seems to have a reached a limit to the number of criteria of 25, because if I try doing this for some additional sheets I have recently added the function no longer continues to work. Thanks in advance

Easily Remove Criteria from Database Header
ericjhberg posted a question in Wishlist - Feature and Content Requests
It would be nice to have the option to delete a particular criteria choice within a database header rather than just using the "Fewer Choices" to eliminate just the last (bottom) criteria choice. The current methodology for eliminating criteria at the top of the list is cumbersome if you want a clean list of criteria, free from "All Object" choices. I've had criteria that are more than 10 lines long and eliminating the first, third, and seventh lines is impossible without assigning a "All Objects" choice to it. I see two options for fixing this. 1. Consider an interface with + and - buttons for each line instead of the "More Choices" and "Fewer Choices" buttons. 2. The second option would be, when changing a criteria to "All Objects", the list reorganizes to put those choices at the bottom of the list. The user could then use the "Fewer Choices" button to remove the unwanted lines.- 4 replies
