  1. HI- What is the process to export sheets that are sections or elevations of 3D models? When I publish to DXF a plate with an elevation viewport, the annotations survive, but the elevation is missing. When I re-import into vwx, Viewports with plan views are okay, and some section viewports get re-imported as 2d symbols, but all my exterior elevations are gone. Any thoughts?
  2. Thanks. Yes, if the location is not part of the object (like class or layer) it would have to recalculate every time. Hmmmm
  3. Hi- This may be an easy one. Trying to make a worksheet that shows the location of symbols. The symbols are all audio equipment in a rack, and the locations are rack spaces (rectangles, each having a specific name) As symbols are shuffled, I would want the spreadsheet to show the location. I can use LOC as a boolean to see if the symbol is in a location LOC="Rack1U1" but how do I find the name of the location?
  4. One of the architects I work with wants all text to be in capitals. It would be nice if we could include capitalization in a text style, and it could be included in callouts, drawing labels, etc.
  5. I sent in a video. It happens when I delete a leader, then add a leader, and double click in the same place. If doesn't happen every time, but will crash by the 4th or 5th time, every time.
  6. I've found when I create a keynote and add a leader line, when I double click in the same place, (adding a leader on top of itself) vwx will crash. This happens in both 2020 and 2021. Very annoying.
  7. Brilliant. Thank you. Is there any documentation for that? Or should I not bother making data tags if the syntax is going to change.
  8. Not quite sure how to use <ExprIfTrue>@"<Condition> : <ExprIfFalse>". in a data tag. I'm trying to make a tag that will look at the area of a rectangle, and if the area is over 100, will say "too large". I tried =IF((#AREA#>100), 'Too Large', 'Too small'), which will work in a worksheet, but not in a tag. What am I missing?
  9. Is there an easy way to apply labels to a schematic view? If I create a schematic view from a hanging position, the schematic view shows the position name. If i create it from a lighting pipe, or truss system, it won't show a name. I've tried using data tags, #Lighting Pipe#.#Name# doesn't work, and #NNA_SchematicViewObject#.#Name# gives a value of 0. Any suggestions?
  10. Why don't the instruments in schematic views show data visualization? It makes the schematic views a lot less useful.
  11. Adding the zero to 0.5 makes it work, but it still keeps the units as square feet. Using VALUE(#AREA#) returns VALUE(150 sq ft). It works in the report, but not in the tag
  12. I'm not having success. I tried to calculate cost of sheet goods, where is would show #Area# *.5 (for 50 cents a square foot), the data tag shows '150 sq ft * .5' without doing the math
  13. Edit the wall style, and in the Insertion Options change the Top Bound to Layer Wall Height, and Bottom Bound to Layer elevation. If the wall is unstyled, you can change the settings in the OIP
  14. Ok, I understand how walls can change their appearance in viewports based on the detail level, but how does one assign detail levels to components? Where is it set that low detail level shows only the wall borders, but medium and high show all the components? Can this be changed?
  15. I would have thought the clamps in the 2021 Library would already have that.
  16. I like the new accessory process for adding top hats, etc to conventional lights. It doesn't seem to work for moving lights. When I add a clamp or moving light claw, it places it at the front of the light. I can re-position it so it connects to the base, but when I focus the light, it moves to the front of the light. How do we change the relationship?
  17. Have you tried data tags?
  18. Tomcat TC20 and TC 12 both have vertical bookend hinges, and the Tyler GT Truss bookend vertical hinge has the same problem. (Don't ask me why I can build a structure with TC1212-VHB with the truss rotated, but the TC1212-VVB fails) If rigged properly, with motors on each truss, bookend hinges can be used vertically. This forces us to convert the "system" to a group or hanging position to be able to move it. Yes, better documentation would be appreciated.
  19. It's interesting that the VWX library includes vertical bookend hinges, if they can't be used to make a truss system. There is no documentation, and no feedback when you try to use a vertical symbol as to why it fails. The truss hinge video in Vectorworks U fails to mention the restrictions
  20. Are any of the vertical truss hinges working in Spotlight? It seems you can only use the insert truss tool to insert hinges on a horizontal plane. The vertical hinges that ship with spotlight don't auto connect, and can't be used to make a truss system.
  21. Is anyone else having problems with schematic views on curved truss? It seems to be treating a curved section as a straight object, so the distances between lights are not accurate, and when you move a light in schematic view, you can end up with lights floating in space. Also noticed schematic view objects don't reflect their layer colors correctly.
  22. Is there a Function I can call to turn on and off data visualization? I don't see anything in the Wiki

    Slab Styles

    Cool, thanks

    Slab Styles

Is there a way to create a new slab style from an unstyled slab? When I start to create a slab, I can 'save preferences as a slab style', but once the slab has been created, I can only replace the slab style, not save the current settings as a new style. We can do this with doors and windows, what not with slabs?
