Ok so went back to my 12.01 folder and pulled out the UserDict file and put it in my 12.5 folder. Now when I try to spell check it instantly crashes. What I don't understand is where the original went or why VW doesn't make a new one as soon as I ask it to learn. I will send the crash log to NNA but I have a feeling this shouldn't be this confusing. Thanks for the help.

Ray you were right the file was locked. It is now read/write but it still doesn't learn. It would seem that it should be a custom dictionary file. I looked for one but can't find anything.

When I asked "spell check" to learn it goes to the next word without an error message but the next time the same word comes up as misspelled. Running repair permission didn't help.

I would like to be able to do a section to a design layer and convert to lines. I have one that needs too much editing to cover everything up. If I convert the section VP to lines on the sheet I can't dimension correctly. If I move the conversion to a design layer it's very small. I guess this is a strange problem but I would like to have the old way back in some cases. Does anyone know a way to create a hidden line section to a design layer? Thanks,

I'm having a once in a while problem with the OIP not showing anything selected. Quiting the file and opening again doesn't fix it. But quiting VW and reopening does. Never had a crash or loss just have to save quit and restart.

I need a lag bolt for a detail and can't find one anywhere in 12.5. If it's not here what do others uses to detail a lag bolt? Thanks,

I took a copy of my applications/libraries/wall styles/wall styles imperial.mcd file from my version 12 folder and replaced the one in the 12.5 folder. When I try to choose a wall style in 12.5 I have all the new styles not my old defaults. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

On mine there is a white box icon over the original. Get info (command I) select the icon and hit delete to get rid of the white box and the old icon is still there.

Anyone know if there is going to be a big dinner and Vectorworks show in Cornville Arizona? I don't want to miss it.

Doesn't work for me. The systems tells me that the installer and the extract are not responding. The only way out is force quit. I moved the installer window to my second monitor before it crashed and I never saw the second dialog box. I have 3000kbs download and I left it for an hour just to see. Nothing.

I have exactly the same problem. I tried not letting the program go to NNA for the Extract Files but then got another error and wouldn't continue. It is something about not connecting to the Extract Files over the net.

I had a guy tell me that on the Nevada Test Site once, sometime in the summer of 1988. We were just outside of area 6 bordering area 51. I was asking why the site map didn't have anything shown about this area marked 51. He also had a 117A belt buckle. It looked really strange and they hadn't yet shown it to the public. With all the great solids modeling capability of this software it amazes me that we can't trim roof face 1 to roof face 2.

Is the source code somewhere to download for the Leader Line and Bubble detail plugins? I would love to have a leader line with only the arrow segment and I would love to have a bubble that would accept letters or numbers. I think I can modify the code and get it to work but don't have the time to learn to write it from scratch. Thanks,

I have a version 12 "Design Series User's Guide" in pdf. I'm not sure where I got it but I use it all the time. Preview is very fast and much easier to search in.

87 pages with additional 6 pages of really simple demo drawings. Space Shuttle not included. It's dated Nov '82. Also have the original brochure and a little write up description by Mike Ford.

David, I still have my 1.0 AutoCad manual. The best thing I always liked about AutoCad and FastCad for that mater was the single stroke key commands. With my workspace L is line, R is regtangle, < rotates 90 left, etc. I have used every key. This really improved my productivity.

OK Ken I have an idea... just remove the Roof Tool options for top and sides and we can just use the wall tool on all the roof surfaces to get the textures we need. It would work. =-)

I vote yes for the ability to texture the fascia and soffit.

And while your at it, why not give us a soffit and fascia texture choice? Instead of just Part: top, sides, and all.

Peter - Do you mean the "VP Class Properties" when you say overrides? All I find is the visibilities or I can edit the texture choice. I also see the ability to set the roof top, dormer, and gable end walls, but how do you set a texture for the fascia. I'm feeling dumb... but that's not that unusual. =-)

When rendering a roof the top and gable end are easy to set for texture. But how do I set the fascia or just the edge of the roof? I can make the whole roof object a color and that works on the render but it messes up the 2D drawing. Do I have to build my own 3D fascia to fix this? Thanks - Larry
