I am also pulling my hair out with stair 2d visibilities. I have a 3 story building. For some reason the visibilities don't want to cooperate and this is critical... I have a room under a stair so I do not want the dashed lines above, so I turn visibility off. However, that then is inherited by the floor above but I want to see the dashes there... I guess automating this isn't worth the headache - I will turn off and simply draw the dahed lines where appropriate. Another thing I am scratching my head over is materials for the 3d stair componenst... I can not find where they can be defined by material.

In VW2022 I can not find where the door hardware class is set... Where is it hiding?

Thanks, Wes. More than likely I will not be able to accomplish this in 2020. When I went into the Define Tag Field, a bunch of gobble-d-goop displayed and without saving, the display showed the same gooble-d-goop. I have been trying desparately to upgrade to Windows 10, but have had ZERO luck. An unknown error keeps popping up. I have researched many sites, done exactly what they suggested, and of course, still no luck. I have tried downloading the iso file, but when the file is almost completed downloaded, I get a disk fail error saying the disk is too small, yet the 32G flash drive isn't large enough for a 3.5G file... Go figure. Guess I am stuck in VW2020 for yet a while longer. Thank you so much for your help. Here is a screen shot of the Define Tag Field:

Wes: I use version 202o since I am still in Windows7 platform. Is your example available in version 2020? If not, any advice on how I should upgrade to windows 10? I am a bit skittixh about doing that.

Oh, well... It would be great if there was a way to have a numeric Additional Information field to allow this. I am sure that most architects would love to have this feature incorporated into the Space Labels. Thanks for the suggestions!!!!!

How do you add Occupant tabulations to the Space Labels? I do not see a way to do the actual calculations. I want to display the SF, SF per occupant, and Total Occupant Load. The first 2 I have already.

Is there a link to a video on creating door hardware sets? I have created door types with specific door hardware set numbers, but occassionally I need to change some door hardware items, so the hardware set assigned is no longer applicable. The door schedule will not allow me to modify the hardware set. So - is there a way or must I creat a new door type just for this minor change? I am really surprised at the very limited info available on door hardware. Any links or suggestions are welcome.

Another wierd thing is now happening... I can not split the wall. When I split the wall, the opening I had at the end of the wall whifts to the wall cut location. Strange.

A couple of things wierd this morning... 1. When I went to copy a CMU wall the original wall disappeared. Is there a setting that I have accidentally changed? 2. I ended up having to draw a new CMU wall. When I did a Wall Join with the new wall, the original wall disappeared... WTH?

For some reason when I insert a Curtain Wall into a CMU wall, the CW doesn't punch into the wall. The wall clips to it... Any suggestions on fixing this? I have never encountered this before, so it must be some setting somewhere that I am not aware of.

Has anyone come up with a simple solution for breaking out the data needed for performing a Comcheck analysis? I am currently going to elevations viewports and creating geometry for windows, doors, etc and hand entering the SF of each - very time consuming. Is there a way to utilize spaces for this? Or another way? Any suggestion is appreciated.

Thank you. The problem arises in the fact that the CMU has no finishes - just a bare CMU wall, thus no wrap is possible for the CMU. I will try end wrapping the stud wall that abuts the CMU wall and see if I can get it to cover exposed CMU. Thank you for the assist.

More than likely the issue is v2020. I need to update windows so that I can get the latest versions. Anysuggestion on process of upgrading?

Is there a way to extend materials in a wall style? I have used the wrap tool, which works great, but I have a situation where a metal stud wall abuts a CMU wall and I need for the drywall to cover the face os the CMU... I have tried component trim, etc., but can't seem to find a way to accomplish this.

I TOTALLY AGREE!!! I thought it was only me that was having this problem. IMO it is worthless. I just creat a spreadsheet and reuse/modify per job.

The last time I upgraded from XP to 7, it was disastrous - many programs did not work, lost files, etc..... Any suggestions? So..... it seems to be so basic, yet so complex, to get rid of the error... Do you know of a formula/function that can read the numerator and if 0 display a value for the formula as 0?
