  1. Thanks for the tip on where the residential furniture is located in V12. How does one get it to appear as an item in the Resource Brouser as a favorite?
  2. I second the "WOW" of Ramon PG for the polygon from inner and outer boundry mode. I spend hours "rendering" elevations to represent materials via hatches. This enhancement should greatly cut that time. Nicely done. Rick Bohl
  3. Is there any logic for this operation or just a wish list item?
  4. When trying to use the tape measure tool in stacked layer mode, I get a message that this tool can not be used. Is the stacked layer mode for visual reference only or is there another way to measure between objects?
  5. I have been working on a file converted from 11.5 and find as a work around converting windows to symbols eliminates the border.
  6. How does one get the view created from the camera view tool into a view port on a sheet layer?
  7. Does anyone have a technique for representing the inactive leaf of a double door in plan? As I see it the door PIO allows both doors to be open or closed in plan, not one open and one closed as is the tradition way to indicate an inactive leaf. The same appears to be true in 3D, although I have not had a need yet to show only on door open in 3D. Rick Bohl
  8. I can not get a pilaster to render when assigning styles to the the shaft or capital. The column renders fine with the same styles. Has anyone else experienced this situation?
  9. I have created a dormer in a roof and am attempting to get the exterior face of the dormer wall to align with the exterior face of the wall below. The current situation is that the exterior face of the dormer wall aligns with the interior face of the wall below. I have tried to correct this by entering a negative 4.5" (my current wall thickness) in the "Edit roof element dialogue box - Building line offset field" but it will not accept a negative number. Is there any other way to align the walls? Rick Bohl

Selecting the benchmark elevations or roof slope dimension and changing something will resize the text to the proper size. I have notified the Nemetschek folks via an emailed file and have had no response. Very frustrating problem as I find it occurring when making those last minuet revisions. 11.5. 11. I just upgraded to 11.5 and am having a problem getting roof textures to map perpenduclar to the roof eave. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I am working on a file created in 11.1. Only new roofs are affected. Existing roofs remain with the roof texture mapped perpenduclar to the eaves. I just tested a new file created in 11.5 and the results are the same; roof texture does not map perpenduclar to eaves.

  13. When one is using the issue manager and is in the "Review Sheet Data" module what order do the sheets appear? I currently am using the trial and error method to number and the title the sheets. That is; sequence through the sheets as they are presented in the issuer manager; view them and then go back and change the sheet specific data. Does anyone have a better method? Rick
  14. CipesDesign, Thanks for the response. I also can not get the frammer to recognize a roof face. Error is generated from a roof object created from "create roof" command. Can someone from Nemetschek confirm this is on the bug list.
  15. In attempting to frame a simple shed roof I am experiencing the following. This error code is posted "VW has caused an error in ROOF FRANER.DDL - VW will now close. If you continue to experience errors restart. VW will then create the roof framing and I can continue working OR The same error will be posted and VW will close without creating the framing. Can any one offer a soultion? Rick
  16. Is there a way to put radius on a counter top created with the counter top tool? (i.e. 24" wide top with 18" radius on one corner) Rick
  17. I too have been turning on all classes in viewports as default approach, however this seems to have resulted in excessive time when the view port is updated with hidden line rendering mode. (Several mins. for a two story house with typical interior wall and fixtures. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation?
  18. I also have experienced the same situation as Chris D. The actions that preceeded the loss of the saved views, namely backing up the file via "save as", and renameing are the same. I do not recall if I opened the renamed file.
  19. Thanks for the info and the prompt response. Is there any way to change the title "General Notes" to Caps ("GENERAL NOTES"). Same question applies to "Scale" on the Drawing Title Plug In.
  20. I added the additional notes via the dialoge box and renamed the file. When choosing the renamed file the general notes tool works. As a second question, How do I format the notes text? Rick
  21. Katie, General notes.txt is in the Plugins\common\data\notes folder and when opening it in the windows note pad it appears to be intact. Scanning through the text it contains the notes supplied with the VW11 as well as some I have added. Rick
  22. When attempting to use the notes manager I receive the following error message: "Error on line 84 of C:\Program\Files\Vectorworks11\Plug-ins\Common\Data\Notes|General Notes.txt" The title "General Notes:" is inserted on the drawing and the Notes Manager - General Notes pallet opens but is not accessible. I am able to close the pallet and continue drafting but the general notes tool continues to return the error message. Can anyone shed some light on the situation?
  23. Can anyone give me some advice on creating a 3d curved window molding?
