  1. 42. A cancel Button for renderings and when calculating sections viewports. A really instantaneous one.
  2. No problem here... MCH, wich are those bugs you're referring?
  3. This is another one: 41. Sections Viewports: option to Merge objects with same attributes (objects with different classes but with the same fill and pen attributes, for example).
  4. Or can someone tell the selector for that function? Thanks in advance.
  5. All of the errors that you presented here, appears more lack of understanding how the program works, if we can have more information of your problems as said islandmon the better. I think, also that's a bad thing to call it VW errors, since they are mostly user errors!
  6. Maybe, someone from NNA can say something! ??
  7. Looks promising! http://www.nemetschek.net/ThermoRender/ When the English version?
  8. I think you have to make the update to 12.5 to get perspective projection on section viewports.
  9. Maybe this could explain some things! and some ideas can get into focus... http://www.architosh.com/features/2008/chatside/nemetschek/080414_6a.html
  10. Now you can use "none" if you don't want to show the left or right line in a defined component in "Edit wall attributes". Anyway the idea of send to back componets or front is interesting and one good complement!

    Revit

BIM aproach of VW's looks very powerfull and logic for me. It's just a question of time. The idea, implemented on early versions of VW (since MiniCad days), of making any drawn object as an information container, through records formats and the data tab, is a great concept. The Bim aproach of only using walls, doors and any kind of parametric object is limited and doesn't solve much of the problems when designing one specific element, not cosidered in the predifined parameters. VW with its's modeling and drawing tools promise more. It isn't only what costs more or less. Archicad costs US$4000.00 and doesn't have something near to the parking object of VW (that can be better), for example. The aparent success of Revit is more based on it's marketing than in any real difference with other Bim packages, included VW.
  12. Floors, pillars, hardscapes, seating layouts...etc I think any object can show different levels of detail according to the scale of visualitation.
  13. Those are things that are needed in our day to day work with VW, there are only 3 or four items that are suggestions based on c4d experience, and that we'd like to see on VW. What do you suggest? maybe one cumbersome plug-in like "archicad maxom form", when VW does rely on "integrity ware engine", the same that uses Rhino and others powerful modeling packages. I think in it's foundation VW is a really powerfull piece of software.
  14. Agreed! Walls have it. Now let's do it for every object and scale dependent via viewports.
  15. 1. In the "Notes Manager: Callout. An option to "Duplicate Note" when working with databases, this doesn't exist. Should exist. 2. "Aling distribute" with rotate plan view and inside a group doesn't work correctly. It does not work if you are inside a group!. I think this is a BUG. 3. The "section line instances" of SVP (sections viewports) must handle different visual configurations for each instance. This will admit different sizes and representations according to the scales and drawings. 4. There must be an option for rotate, scale and move the profile on "extrude along path". This have to be around the path. Look the example: 5."Batch Update" for "Viewports. Like Batch print, Batch pdf... 6.0 Beams. Concrete. With components and options for change of angle from the ground level as well as their own axes or pivots. Also a "Concrete Beam Style". A Beam Join Tool, as complement. And the posibility of having any kind of profile. Look the example: 6.1 Beams metal. With diferent Shapes. With the same variables as "Concrete Beam" 6.2 Connection plates. For Metal Beams. 6.3 Metalic structures. Look how clever is the "atom array" from Cinema 4D. Consider: diferent types of sections an nodes. Cinema 4d Atom Array 6.4 Column Object. Same kind of properties as "Beam Object". Interactive Relations with "Beams", "Floors" and "Walls". They must rotate in any Axis, and have any profile. Also Components and "Column Style". 7. Foundation Tool. With a consistent relation with the column object described before. Any kind of foundation 8. Walls more flexible, with varied sections in all directions. The wall must be considered some kind of membrane. Better caps. 9. Walls Must admit any kind and any number of holes (or symbols), whithout loosing coherence. 10. Better connections for the components of the roofs. Better Framing member. 11. Specific object to construct slabs, with components. Based on the hardscape tools, with components for sections, as walls do now. 12. The repetitive units, can be redefined as a tool in 3d. Taking basis Nurbs and seating layout. 13. Parametric Objects must work in any projection. Not constrained to the top plan view. 14. Stair tool must be completely reformulated on its geometric concept. More options and sections, a really constructive aproach. 15. Better Doors. Windoor is a good example. 16. Windows: windows with blinds. Maybe a more powerful one. Windoor is a good example. 17. Hatch and stipple 3d. 18. Structural Shapes 3d directly. Angles in either direction. Like the Beam Object described before. 19. Better handrails. 20. Better Grid Bubble. Radial Grid Bubble, on Path Grid Bubble. A Mixed condition of every kind. 21. The offset duplications should operate in three dimensions! 22. Fillet, Chamfer, and Shell must function as a container. They must be editable with doubleclick and eliminate having to destroy them in order to rebuild something. 23. The classes must work with transparencies, when on "gray others" mode, as do the layers. 24. Improving the import of images. Drag and drop directly, and all functions like graphic design programs. (Fix the aspect ratio, go back to its original size, etc.). Look at the inspector of Apple aplications. 25. Improving Libraries. Would operate as iTunes or Winamp. 26. Friendly interactive tutorials and aids like sketchup and rhino. I have many colleagues who would like to start ... Rhino and Sketchup have a very short learning curve. 27. RenderWorks. Open the door to vRay or MaxwellRender or any external renderer. 28. A cancel button when making a Render. 29. HyperNurbs object as C4d. With polygonal modeling as basis. On Nurbs: Regular Meshes when converting to mesh or 3d polygons. Cinema 4d Hypernurbs 29.1 Nurbs Volume or solid. Like a piece of modeling clay. Editable by faces. 30. Polygonal modeling: selection by surfaces, cutting surfaces. Adding points, deleting points...over a mesh 31. The ability to include pictures, or rather drawings elements "reported" in the cells of worksheets and databases! Useful for plant tables and door schedules. 32. Rotate within the 2D reshape. 33. Having a sort of "extract" for 2d. Like the one we have on 3d power pack, but with 2d objects as polylines, rectangles, etc. 34. Control of pdf layers on the object info palette, after importing a pdf document. 35. 3d Constraints. Relations Between Objects. Releations from point to point. A tool the permits doing masive constraints between groups of pints, vertexs, and planes. An aperture to parametric Modeling. 36. Cliping option inside the camera. Look 3d programs as C4d. 37. Interactive section plane, like the one in sketchup. with the viability of move objects in those sections. 38. Graphical programing interface (with bubbles...) for vectorscript. 39. 3d Dimensioning Tools. Constrained to objects, between layers and viewports. 40. http://techboard.nemetschek.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=12&Number=79954&Searchpage=1&Main=17186&Words=&topic=0&Search=true#Post79954
  16. Now I use two section lines. Not needed whit your proposal!! Agreed. Workaround: Two Sections with the section lenght stablished by the line lenght of the section line.
  17. Why you don't use a symbol, with a plug in object inside. Symbols works like blocks in autocad. You can make a symbol from plain geometry, like autocad or with a plug in object inside.
  18. Agreed with Peter. We found some problems, too: 1- An interactive section tool (like sketchup or Boa). 2- If we are going to have section viewports, the way it behaves now, it need a close relationship with the annotations: Linked and more dynamic in the process of updating. 3- Not to the hybrid approach as it is. Maybe a more flexible one. Plan views must be straight cuts to the model. Objects like doors can have an option to show properly in that SVP. Walls: the same. We had found two major problems in this approach: A) The objects over the cutting plane don't show (projections) and we don't have any control on it. B) Doors. 4- The idea to have a way to show components, internally in 3d objects, Imagine an extrusion, solid, or nurbs shell witch we can introduce components like walls.
  19. Maybe, it's only an update for leopard users!?!
  20. More programable objects? 1. A "Beam" object. With components. 2. More flexible walls. Walls with variable sections and angles in any direction including Z direction. Better Caps. 3. Better conection between elements (like in roof framing, and the union of parts) 4. A slab specific object. With components like walls, and caps to. And the ability to be resahaped with de 2D reshape. 5. Repetitive Unit must work on 3d. Can function like the seating layout, but in any projection. 6. All objects must work on any projection, the ability of rotate in any condition. 7. The linear material must work on 3d. Must produce clean results on hidden line rendering. Can work like the hardscape but with the ability to display hatches on hidden line rendering. 8. The stair tool must be completely reformulated in terms of geometric construction, in a way it can produce really good sections. 9. Doors: More flexible in terms of components and grouping. Maybe like the windoor tool. 10. Windows: Louvred windows. 11. Hardscape: Must display hatches on hidden line. 12. Foundation tool. A really good one. For columns, and walls. Components too. 13. Structural shapes. They need to work on 3d. 14. Handrails, better ones!!! 15. Better Grid Bubble. Radial option. And the ability to have a shoulder under the bubble. And so on!!! I think the aproach to have a object and the ability to have classable components is great. But we need better and more precise objects in terms of construction and elements definitions.
  21. It's a natural condition ( ) in here, that some of us use 3d model (that's our way of work), the other world use Autocad in it's most primitive way. But really the only problem that we have found in the process is this with the sections viewports. I don't obtain consistent results using convert to lines. I prefer converting to group, but still i don't get the background information. Any suggestion?
  22. I know that, contractors receives them but they can't work from paper space. They need the drawings on model space, in that way they can work continously without interrupting the flow of work.
