In theory the arrows should scale automatically, after spending a bit of time looking at this and another possibly related issue with a different object, it looks like this is a bug that only seems appear on Mac's (I'm not seeing this issue on Windows). I'll get a but report opened to have it addressed, In the mean time here's a data tag that will hopefully solve the issue for you, the tag is designed for use in a 1 to 50 scale, so it should work in a 1/4" scale hoist measurement tag scale 1 to 50.vwx
  2. The hoist label and measurement labels are both controlled by check boxes in the hoist object properties. You can use the text style at the top of the hoist properties to control the font and size. Another option is to use a data tag either from the default library or by using the new create data tag style from object command in the tool menu.
  3. Hi Patrick I'm afraid what you were told is not correct, its ETC's plugin and they are responsible for maintaining it. Our dev team is providing them with support but the issue is at their side.
  4. As Tom mentioned the reworked hoist was intended to work with the new cable tools for cable planning. Personally I would use the notes field to document the control cable length if I didn't plan on using the cable tools for this. I'll put an enhancement request to have the parameter added to the hoist object properties. I'm not sure why the "Control Cable Length" parameter is showing up in the plugins manager for you, have you added the legacy hoist tool back into your workspace? that may be why you can see it in the plugins manager. As far as I'm aware there is no way to use the plugins manager to add the parameter into the new hoist objects properties.

Hi Dennis At the moment this is the default however you can change it. there are 3 options depending on your preference If you want to edit all the lights in your file edit the the 'Light Info Record' definition in the resource manager. to do this right click on it, choose edit in the context menu and then edit the connector field. You'll need the Universal name string of the connector type to do this, which can be found in the Cable Connector xml file (located in your application folder>Libraries>defaults>Cable Tools). This modified Light Info record can then be saved into your template or favorites so you only have to do this once. For a specific lighting device type you can edit the Light Info Record attached to the symbol definition in the resource manager. right click on the symbol, select attach record, in the attach record dialogue highlight the Light Info record (make sure to not accidentally uu-tick the attach column or you will lose the data record contents!), hit the edit values button, edit the connector field the same as above. the third option is to add a consumer electrical component to the symbol definition in the resource manager. to do this you will need to edit the 3D component of the symbol definition in the resource manager. right click on the symbol, select edit 3D component in the context menu, activate the electrical component tool (you will need to right click on the distributor tool for this), select consumer component in the tool mode bar, insert the consumer inside the base/body of the light. You can then define the connector type power consumption, power factor and operating voltage range in the consumer components properties. A couple of points to remember if you do this , make sure to correctly class the consumer or it will be potentially visible in all your drawings and make sure to save the customized symbol definition to a favorites, user or work-group library so you can use the customized symbol in future projects
  6. The easiest way is to import a lighting device from the library, either using the right click context menu import command or by inserting it into the file. The light info record will then be available in your active file's resources. Another option is if you are starting a new file use the Spotlight template as it is included in the template file resources. There isn't a dedicated light info record for ETC, as record formats are mostly empty defaults that have to be filled in for the light (or other object) they are attached to, after being attached.

For this you will need to go to the GDTF share website https://gdtf-share.com/

  10. This is a bug, the consumer object should apply the load to each phase, not just the L1 phase. I'll get a bug report in. The way this should work is that your Heater should have a single consumer inside of it, unless there is a power link thru, in which case you would add a output component (which will automatically link with the consumer).
  11. The easiest way is to use a data tag, Select a bridle open the tools menu and activate the create data tag style command in the dialogue tick the use and use label column for the ID row This will create you a basic bridle ID tag, that you can reuse.
  12. @JLitterio Edit the 3D component of the symbol and use the electrical component tool to add a 'Consumer' component. The Consumer properties include Connector, choose the appropriate connector from the drop down Power, this is the power consumption (load) of the device Power factor, this is effectively how efficiently the device uses the power, most lights for example have a factor of 0.95 or better Max and min voltage allow you to define the needed operating voltage range for the device.
  13. Yes we have an extensive Layher Scaffolding library, in the Resource manager look for 'Scaffolding Layher Allround Event' in the Ent Stage folder. The only thing not in the library would be the curved roof, you would have to create the frame using truss and pipe objects.
  14. Hi Bogdan The bug is still currently being worked on, I'll ask the dev team for an update. On the subject of the Help and more info, the new cables tools skill video should be added to the Vectorworks university soon. Also if you haven't found it yet there is another fairly long forum thread about the new cable tools, page one is mostly about the preview 2021 version.

  17. Hi Olivier Glad you are enjoying Spotlight, I'm afraid we don't directly support any consoles proprietary fixture personality files. The only way we can do this is with GDTF. However you can create your own fixture types either by duplicating and editing an existing fixture or from scratch. Duplicating and editing an existing lighting device is the easier option, find a lighting device in the default library that is similar geometry wise to what you require, you will need the light in your active file resources, so either import it (right click on the desired light in the library and select import) or by double clicking on it to activate the lighting instrument tool, which will also import it. once its in the active file resources you can edit it there are 2 methods you can use for this in the resource manager right click on the symbol and select attach record from the context menu, then select the light info record and hit the edit values button. This will open the symbols attached data record and you can directly edit it. Also make sure you change the symbol name so that if you ever use the original symbol it won't overwrite your custom one. lastly save the symbol into a favorites or user folder. Use the lighting symbol maintenance command in the Spotlight Reports Menu. Once the dialogue is open select the symbol and hit the edit butoon to access the lights data.
  18. I had a look at your file and the error is because duplicate hoists have been created. All the drops connecting the upper truss to the lower are doubled up. if you delete the duplicates then it will calculate correctly. While investigating the issue I noticed that the duplicates are being created by the insert drop command, but only in this file. When I created a new file and tried to recreate the issue I couldn't reproduce it. Can you tell me the version and build number of Vectorworks that you are running so I can investigate further? (you can find it in the About Vectorworks section of the Help menu)
  19. Its normally in the Spotlight lighting tool set Have you tried reverting to the default Spotlight workspace to see if that fixes the issue? In the workspace editor it should be in the Tools tab in the Recent Changes - Vectorworks 2021 - New Tools section
  20. As long as the consumer and output component use the same connector type this will be done automatically.
  21. @raoulsI've just spoken with the content team and at this point the majority of the default libraries are having issues with the magnet configuration. They are working to fix the libraries (all the service select libraries are already done) but it will take time, as there are around 5500 symbols to go through. The plan is to release fixed libraries with each service pack update. At this point the work around of editing the magnets in the library symbols is the only fix I am aware of. The only good thing about this workaround is that it only needs to be done once for each symbol, as the edited symbol can be saved for future use.
  22. Ah right you mean directly from the electrical components themselves. No, you can only access the data of the Distributor object itself not the electrical components inside it. This is normal behavior in Vectorworks, unless the top level parametric object has been specifically engineered to allow a particular data record or parameter from other objects contained inside of it to be visible to a data tag or report. What specific data from the input or output components do you require? With this I can make an enhancement request to have this revealed for data tags and reports.
  23. This is possible in sp2 (International English version) build number 622317, which was released last week. I'm not sure when ComputerWorks will release the German version sp2, but I expect it will be fairly soon.
  24. If you are using a report or worksheet the cable run ID of a cable connected to an input or output can be displayed using the 'Output *' where the '*' is the number of the output. It is important to note that if the cable object doesn't have a cable run ID then nothing will display in the field in a worksheet or data tag when using this crteria
  25. What service pack are you running? This was at least partially fixed in SP2, it will now correctly show data from the lighting device connected on each output. However there is a related issue, where if there multiple devices on the output, it only displays the data from the most recently connected lighting device. This is being worked on.
