  1. True, but that could be prevented with a password, or not? I agree with Christiaan, that it would be a perfect standard. Also converting through Illustrator is nice, but not everything will be converted perfectly and you need to buy the software as well. Thanks anyway! Maybe there will be a reaction from Nemetschek. Regards, Peter
  2. I just read the new eDispatch where Sean Flaherty writes something about their collaboration with Adobe. He's writing about the strategy of that partnership to make pdf a more commonly used format. My question is then, why is the import pdf function disabled for us VW Fundamental 12.5 users? That's a bad start, I think. Maybe in an update? Thanks in advance! Regards, Peter
  3. I totally agree! The Radiosity and HDRi renderings are taking too long on my Mac Pro as well (4 x 3GHz). HDRI is OK when you use the "low" setting though. Why can any 3d program render radiosity much quicker than Renderworks. I use Cheetah3d for rendering now, and it gives much better results in the fraction of the time. I hope this will be sorted in a next release. Regards, Peter
  4. Katie, Thanks, but it seems that our distibutor is working on an updated version. Our "US" version is somewhat different than yours. It seems there are also some German and French components in our version. Too bad I have to wait a little longer. Regards, Peter
  5. Search this forum before asking please! Regards, Peter
  6. Downloaded the new HASP Drivers, VW can find my dongle now, but it tells me my serial number is wrong. Any ideas? Is this a local (dutch) problem? Thanks! Regards, Peter
  7. I'm sorry, that was a misunderstanding. I thought I saw it while browsing through the plugin folder. I saw the exporter in the workspace though. Sorry for your time. Regards, Peter
  8. Maybe this question has been asked before (couldn't find it here), but I have VW12 Fundamental that includes the 3ds exporter in the plugin folder (Mac). I know it only works for the designer series. So why tease me with a plugin I really could and want to use, but doesn't work because I don't have one of the designers packages? I think a .3ds export should be a standard with your great program. Or will it be available in the future? Regards, Peter
  9. delete the dot after nemetsche.net Regards, Peter
  10. Haven't checked this thread in a while, sorry! Well to answer Bara. We often use Vectorworks to make presentationbooks. I know it's not publishing software, but it's works great! We can use our technical drawings alongside renderings and reference pictures etc. So is there an answer to my question? Maybe a script or something? PS. Release VW12 for the Netherlands already!!! :-) Regards, Peter
  11. You can make a screen grab of the icon and convert the picture to a .png . That's the easiest way I think. Good Luck! Regards, Peter
  12. Hi Nicholas, I don't have version 12 yet. But this doesn't look good :-( . Maybe a workaround would be to turn the windows into an area light? I use this workaround with other 3d programs sometimes to reduce rendertime. I can't wait for Version 12 to come to the Netherlands. I hope within a couple of weeks so I can experiment during the Christmas weeks :-) Good luck and I'm sorry I couldn't be of direct help. BTW. How are exterior models lit? Regards, Peter
  13. Too bad it's not a plugin for Fundamental users. At our office there aren't many Architects features we could use, because most of the plugins are not suited for the Dutch market. We use Sketchup and the 3ds format often. So it's a real pity that there not included in the Fundamentals. Well maybe in a later version. (or I have to convince my boss to buy 1 VW Architects licence) :-) Thanks for bringing the Sketchup plugin to this great program anyway!!! Regards, Peter
  14. Ehm, Islandmon, I meant radiosity pictures rendered with Renderworks 12. Or are there any pictures made with RW12? If so then the quality is not so good as I expected. Regards, Peter
  15. Hello, Is there anyone who has radiosity pictures already? I'm very eager to see some results as VW12 is not available yet in the Netherlands. Thanks! Regards, Peter
  16. You guys should try out the Mighty Mouse. Works fine for me! And indeed, I would never go back to a single button mouse aswell. Regards, Peter
  17. Does Renderworks use all 4 G5 processors? ie. Is rendering twice as fast then? Thanks, Regards Peter
  18. Thanks for all the response!! Is there a way to set Firefox as the default helpviewer then? My OS is up to date by the way. Regards, Peter
  19. Can't you import the VW 11 version of your template in VW 12 and then save it as a VW 12 template? (I don't have VW12 yet, so I can't test). Regards, Peter
  20. I can't seem to use the help file under safari. Apple probably changed the Java in the updated Safari :-( I see the Menu on the leftside but when I click on a subject it is not shown in the right window. Anyone with the same problem? Firefox works Ok. Thanks, Peter
  21. Hi, Wouldn't it be great to also post (small) images along with your messages. This way some questions could easily be explained. Wouldn't it also be great to have a Gallery section? Especially with the new render options, I bet there are some nice pictures on the way!! People can also ask for comment on their pictures. Just like SU and Maxwell forums for example. Regards, Peter
  22. No problem with Safari here. Regards, Peter
  23. Alan -> You're absolutely right. I don't look in the Apple Store often. Maybe the dual CPU's are dropped this wednesday :-) Regards, Peter
  24. I think the iMac is a powerful machine and "professional" enough for Vectorworks. The new iMac has better specs than the single G5 Powermac. If you're a heavy duty renderer then a dual (or 2 dual core G5) is much better. Regards, Peter
