  1. I'm after a 3D image prop of a Jelly Palm, have looked through some of the resource folders in VW but not having any luck. Can any point me in the right direction.
  2. Yeah just ran it again. Pre-render ~1seconds. Render ~5 seconds Edges 1m47s
  3. I was able to narrow it down to walls. Have about 4 wall classes (new, existing, type 1 and type 2). With just one of those classes on (approx 5 walls), the render was really slow.
  4. Thanks for all the help guys. I have been able to isolate it down to one layer. There are 4 shown in the earlier image (site, floor, walls, roof). I have made 4 VPs, each showing only one of these layers. The roof, floor and site update within seconds, the layer with the walls seems to be the culprit. Will see if I can isolate the class / object that is cauaing it and submit. Thanks again.
  5. Yeah have been experiencing it for over a week, have shutdown and restarted numerous times in this period. Ive tried things like turning off surface hatches but havent noticed a difference.
  6. There are 5 others. Have only selected the one VP to update. When I cancel the updated on the one VP both teapots disappear.
  7. Yeah I thought that may have been it, but when I checked it's only at 72.
  8. I have a series of elevations for a single storey building. For some reason they are taking a really long time to render. Similar projects normally take under a minute sometimes as fast as 10 seconds to update. This current one is at 7 minutes and still going. Is there a way to find out what is slowing it down?
  9. Thanks Itchy, have just checked and we don't have that plug-in folder, will make contact with Jonathon and see if we can acquire. Thanks for you help.
  10. Hi Alan I know this is an old post, but I now also need the tool, did you have any luck sourcing it? Thanks in advance.
  11. This is still occurring, along with other previously mentioned bugs, is this intended to be fixed for VW2016 users, or is it to improve VW2017?
  12. I have just watched a VW youtube video on how to create a skylight. The beginning of the video says you can create a skylight in a roof object or roof face. The instructions after this only show the roof object and not roof face thou, so there are certain steps which I am unable to follow. I have used a windoor to create a fixed glass window. Created a 3D symbol (not 2D/3D as instructed). Now the video shows insertion options for the roof which don't exist in the roof face tool. Where do I go from here? Have tried to drag and drop and a few other settings but not having any luck.
  13. Can anybody point me in the direction of some relevant info on site models and site model snapshots. I have a site model drawn for a steep sight. I have used a site modifier tool to show a flattened area. Now I need to show two viewports, one with the existing contours, one with the proposed contours. I set the site models 3D display to existing then clicked Create snapshot. I then placed this snapshot on a class "site model 2". I then changed the actual site model 3D display back to proposed. The site model is on class "site model 1". In a viewport I would expect that if I turned one or the other class on I would see the existing or the proposed. I can only see the proposed. If I have the class site model 2 on, no site shows. Also when I go back to the Design Layer the site model and snapshot are not aligned. How should I be setting these objects up so that I can show both existing and proposed site models in two different viewports.
  14. We had a similar issue, checked and unchecked the snapping and no matter what it was still snapping to 90°. By chance happened to notice that when the line tool was selected the mode had been changed from unconstrained to constrained.
  15. With the Windoor tool you can assign a different ID for windoors on various schedules, you can also choose to show in plan and elevation. The majority of our plans are at 1:50 with Elevations at 1:100. This means that either the windoor IDs are too large in plan view or too small in elevation depending on the ID setup. Have not been able to find a way to pick a different ID symbol for Plan view and another for Elevation. Have also tried changing the Scale options under the Advanced Properties of viewport but this has no affect on these IDs. Does anyone have any tricks or know how to resolve this?
  16. Thanks Alan, had a look but not light sources. I had a quick look and all 4 viewports have the class attribute for walls set to black. For what ever reason in two of the viewports the texture overrides the fill. Have done a class override for all 4 VPs and made that class white fill and now seems to work.
  17. Can anyone please explain why the walls in the attached image appear black when viewed from certain angles? I don't have any light source turned on and have just dragged a copy of the top VP and then changed the view from front to left to right etc. Thanks in advance.
  18. Sorry Alan, if you look at the first image. The WD-Trim example was the second post where I got it to work using another method.
  19. I tried that too. In the bottom right of the image I attached there is a screenshot of the other palette as well.
  20. Hi Alan Im finding if I want to say alter the bearing height or eave width etc if try clicking on the edit button as shown in the attached picture then nothing happens. I have to go back to top/plan view then right click and edit to be able to get settings box, make change, then go back to 3D.
  21. Ive been experiencing the same thing. I just performed the action you described above and noticed that it had reverted to working plane.
  22. Is it a feature or a bug that you can't right click and edit a roof when viewing in 3D? In top/plan view when you click edit the settings box is brought up. When viewing in 3D and right clicking and selecting edit, nothing happens.
  23. As an alternative have used the External Trim settings to get what I am after.
  24. I am having a similar issue with the windoor 3D walls to what I am experiencing with walls that don't need components. I have a windoor which I need to show a different wall type above than to the left and right. I have ticked "Wall Options" and added walls above. entered the heights and appears almost correct. If I turn the WD-3D Walls class off and on the wall appears and disappears which is great. To change the texture I have edited that class and given the wall left and right a class texture (wood). When I view the windoor the wall above still shows as black. I have tried ticking and unticking the "use class attributes at creation" and doesnt make a difference. Have also tried changing the class that the 3D wall uses and still no change. Can someone point me in the right direction please. (I should also not this is the same issue I get with walls in general If I tick the "by object" instead of "by component". The walls all show solid black unless I change to by component. Have also tried various wall styles and experience the same thing.) I have purged the file down to just one wall and windoor, removed almost everything from resource browser but still 15mb.
  25. Thanks Alan, I'm guessing then it can only be done with a "styled" wall not an "unstyled" wall.
