  1. I have around 6 sheet layers with about viewports. I went through and updated each viewport individually as wanted to check their appearance. Process took around 5 minutes as not particluary large or complex. I have now published the same sheet and left the option ticked to publish viewports as I find it safer to leave on expecting would take a smilar amount of time to render all again. Its now been about over 20 minutes and still not finished publishing. A script message appears on the screen with the message "publishing layer of internal item 6 of 6". The background screen of my VW has gone black with no other dialog. Is this a bug or has anyone else experienced this?
  2. Hi Pat =('VAA Title Block'.'__CurrentRevision') is the formula used.
  3. In the updated resource browser is there a way to bring back the headings of each resource, eg Symbol Folders, Hatches, Line types etc? I have found where to organize by type or by name. Have also found where to refine list by type.
  4. Are there any tricks for trimming walls to roofs, where there are more than one object on the roof layer. For example I have a roof that I want wanting to extend my walls to. However there are also old roof objects which are classed as removed. There are also beams etc that get in the way. I had hoped that by turning these other classes off that the walls would trim to the visible roof. I know I can create new layers and then move the roof there, trim and then move back. Seems like a roundabout way to achieve something simple.
  5. I do have that one setup in the worksheet as shows all revisions. Would be handy to have one column which shows the current one, this is also shown in the titleblock. Also not sure on how to format the cells so that they read clearly. As as example if I had revisions A,B,C,D & E, the revisions cell reads something like A B C D E The date reads something like : 26/09/1627/09/1601/10/16 and the notes read something like this: Example text for revision A.Example text for revision B.Example text for revision C. Have tried things like "wrap text", column width etc but no luck.
  6. Hi Alan, yeah have recalculated and even still happens after file is closed and reopened.
  7. I have several VAA Titleblocks in a template. I also have a worksheet which shows the info from all titleblocks. As its in a template there are no revisions. However all the titleblocks show the current revision as A, even thou the list of all revisions shows as no entries. Images should hopefully show in more detail.
  8. Ended up leaving it for over an hour but still no luck. Not sure now how to fix the issue of a callout database being moved.
  9. I have a Keynotes Legend where the *.txt documents are saved on a server. The server has had an issue and being repaired, so now the keynotes legend shows as multiple NAs as trying to reference the old folder location. If I click on remove gaps I get a crash withe the Exception Code c000041d. I have gone to Text>Reconcile Notes and redirected all the callouts to a copy of the *.txt documents on my C: so no longer looking at the server. Have tried a few times but after clicking the final OK, VW goes into unresponsive mode. Following an earlier topic I have allowed VW to keep running rather than closing in the hope that it will finally work. Its been over 30 minutes, Im wondering if I should keep waiting, or is this a bug?
  10. I do this quite a bit, from memory its Tools > Edit Class Names. Tick the classes you want to edit. On the right enter a prefix, then click OK.
  11. Hi Zoomer, I cant seem to see the option to pick core in the wall style settings. Ive had a look under the | Definition | Insertion Options | Textures | Data | tabs but can't see it.
  12. I also have a wall style as a test made of two components, framing (90mm) and cladding (20mm). Have set the cladding component to sit -310 which looks OK in 3D. In the setting shown below I tried to set this component to have no fill or line work as don;t want it to show in plan. In the second image below you can see it still shows. Any ideas? PS I tried to change the wall attributes tab as fill says class style, making it have no fill just made the whole wall invisible.
  13. Hi Jonathan I don't know the difference between outer face of the wall and outer face of the wall core. I have just changed those two components to outer face of wall core but couldn't notice a difference. I also have the ceiling and ceiling batten components set to inner face but they still show as to outer. Not sure what I'm missing.
  14. I have created a slab style that has the flooring, floor joist, ceiling battens and ceiling. It works great apart from the edge texture can't be set. As per the image below is it possible to create an additional component that can be classed the same as external walls and that sits in the same Z height as two of the other components.
  15. Aahh I was too quick to reply, in yours it looks like it does that with one line type but not the other. Is there any trick with creating that line type or is it just a case of some work and some don't?
  16. Hi Alan I just tried the file that you attached and I still get the same issue...
  17. Have checked and roof objects only, get this on most jobs. Only fix seems to be to enter the roof face and use the poly editing command that removes one or more edges to polygon.
  18. I do something similar, solid for roof plan, dashed on floor plan. Below is an example of how some of the roofs show when converted from roof to individual roof faces.
  19. We get this problem all the time too. Have been using roof faces which works really good, the only down side is on say a ground floor plan which shows the roof above dashed, the join between the two roof faces shows almost solid due to the dashes not lining up. Another issue we get with the roof tool is even thou there may be one roof plane, it shows correctly in plan and 3D, however in elevation there are random lines which appear, almost like there are two planes joining.
  20. Im still experiencing quite a few bugs with 2016, occurred to me that I hadn't installed a service pack in awhile. Had a look online and only shows service pack 4 from back in June. When can we expect a a fix / next service pack? Im really surprised that a lot of the fundamental tool's bugs have not been fixed and its nearing the end of the year. Only a few examples include the surface hatches to edges of floors, design layer viewports "use current doc settings", working plane reverting after a viewport crop just to name a few.
  21. The master plan is really just used to show the relationship/distance from each block, roading, planting etc. Also the 3D perspectives that will be used for sales.
  22. I should have called them blocks instead of units. Each of the 12 blocks is different and comprises a combination of units. Eg Block 1 has units ABCBA, block 2 has units ADEDA etc, if that makes sense.
  23. I am currently working on a multi unit development. Currently there are 12 individual units (~100m² each). Each file has its on VW file. There is also one VW file which has a referenced VP for each of these units. This "master" file is ~550mb and is quite sluggish and prone to crashing. Soon will be adding another ~20 units for the next stage and I am concerned that the file will become unusable. Is this the correct approach? I think my comp specs are above recommended? The units aren't particularly complex, simple monopitch roofs, two cladding types. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  24. Awesome, thanks for your help.
  25. Thanks Alan, if I was to find the correct image how do I then create an image prop?
