  1. Update your video drivers. Go directly to your video card manufacturers web site and download the drivers, then install.
  2. Vectorworks shouldn't be crashing. You would need to post your computer specs to troubleshoot this. Create a signature at the My Stuff link at the top, Edit Profile. Include your version of VW and computer specs including OS and graphics card make and drivers.
  3. Try going to the properties of the Vectorworks.exe and check Run as administrator. Other than that I don't know, I've never tried to run VW on a standard user account.
  4. Try right clicking on Vectorworks2008.exe and choose "Run as administrator". If that works you can change it permanently in preferences.
  5. Here is where the default textures that show in the OIP are located, this is for VW 2011, not sure if it applies to VW 2008: C:\Program Files\Vectorworks2011\Libraries\Defaults\Renderworks - Textures\Textures_Default.vwx
  6. Kensington Expert mouse. I couldn't live without it.
  7. The video drivers on a brand new laptop will already be out of date. Go directly to the manufacturers web site and download the latest drivers.
  8. Vectorworks 2009 will only import Autocad 2009 and earlier.
  9. Make sure all layers are in "Top/Plan" view, not "Top" view.
  10. On the upper right of the page under VW Community Links, there is a link to Bug Submit.
  11. Vectorworks 12 is not supported in Windows 7.
  12. They do have older versions of Quicktime for download. I don't have an install disk so I don't know what version comes with it, maybe someone else can check.
  13. Thanks. Try uninstalling Quicktime and install the version on the Vectorworks DVD.
  14. Try updating your video drivers. It would help to have your computer specs to troubleshoot. Put that info along with your version of Vectorworks in a signature. Click on the my stuff link at the top, Edit Profile.

  16. In my experience VW runs the same on either platform.
  17. Go to Help Menu>About Vectorworks and the splash screen will tell you what you have installed.

  19. Welcome to the Community Board! "Set up as website", I don't understand this. Please be very descriptive on your problem, what you are doing and then exactly what happens. VW 2011 runs fine here on Windows 7.
  20. Eric, click on the Switch to Full Reply Screen button at the bottom and use File Manager to upload an example and it will be easy to show you.
  21. Did you try right clicking>Force Select? If you could post the file here it would be easy to troubleshoot. Or if you want to email the file to me let me know and I'll send you my email address.
