michael john williams
The windows in the gable wall are not showing. It is as if they have not been inserted correctly and are not 'windows in wall' but they are - I have checked. The gable walls in the roof is unclicked and the walls are set up as walls to fit roof. It gets even worse when you add a texture to the wall as the texture goes right across the window. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Possibly as simple as check the window OIP 'height' and make sure it matches the walls. This is very common ... look at the 3D front or side elevation and see if the window/doors are in the walls . I often copy&paste windows & doors forgetting to reset them to the actual elevation height of the wall. Fun but confusing ; ) Quote Link to comment
michael john williams
Thanks for your help, but it did not work. I am going to try the fit walls to roof command again as it is not showing a gable wall in 3d view. Quote Link to comment
Kevin
I just drew a quick sample to see if I could get this to work and it did. I suggest that you start a new document and do a quick model to experiment on. It should only take a couple of minutes. Just draw four walls, a roof, and a window. That way you should be able to experiment. I put the walls on one layer and the roof on a separate layer. Quote Link to comment
michael john williams
Thanks, I will give a go. I will add that the problem is with the texture going all over the window. Quote Link to comment
michael john williams
No did not work. I still have the texture going over the windows in the gable walls created by walls to roof command. Hope someone has some bright ideas! Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted July 21, 2005 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted July 21, 2005 michael, do you mean that you can see the windows but they are not transparent? Quote Link to comment
michael john williams
I think I have got over it now. I was seeing the window lines but the texture was going over it or the texture on the wall behind was showing through. I have now played around with the glazing style infill and by placing a glass texture here the problem has gone. Quote Link to comment
