Moving a 2D control point resets integer input

I'm working on a marionette tool that draws arcs with some symbols on it, where the amount of arcs is defined by an integer input. However, the integer is reset every time a 2d control point is moved, thus resetting the amount of arcs. Is there a way to not have the input reset when moving a control point?
