Kevin
Under VW 8.5.2 there was a file in the toolkit under Symbols > "Graphic Elements" that was labeled "People". It contained outline profiles of people. Does this still exist in VW 9.5.2? If not, how do I get them from 8.5.2 into 9.5.2? Quote Link to comment
Guest
Kevin, You are right, that's not included in VW9. I don't know why it wasn't included. You can go to the VW 8 folder. Select the mcd file that holds the 3d people in it and open it in VW 9 to convert the file. Once the file is converted to 9, you should save it to your VW 9 folder, Object Libraries. Then you will be able to select those people for your drawings in VW 9 using them as any other symbol. Quote Link to comment
Kevin
Katie;Thank you for your help. It worked great! It took me a while to figure out why I could not find the new file in the Object Browser after converting and saving. I had to click the ADD button. Thanks again. Quote Link to comment
Harold
How about for those who just got VW 10? No people at all? Quote Link to comment
ekb
I would love to have people too - no people in 10.5? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted April 27, 2004 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 27, 2004 I'd like to clarify one thing. You aren't missing much with the elimination of the "people" (aka "blobs") library. We discontinued it because I felt the images weren't remotely professional quality. Quote Link to comment
ekb
Maybe a few professional good looking people would be a great idea then. It is a great help in showing scale in elevations. It beats showing a 5.5 feet tall block and other improvisations. Quote Link to comment
azizg
I found these on the web this morning (for free). they are an older version but they still open just fine. but i had to open them from vectorworks, if i double clicked them it didn't recognise the file type. these are all 2D, but they look ok for elevations. http://www.vectordepot.com/downloads/2d_adults_in_motion.sit http://www.vectordepot.com/downloads/people3.sit Quote Link to comment
