Floating Data Bar Changing Values

Hi Folks,
I've been trying trying to do a quick drawing for a 3D print.
The values I enter in the floating data bar change as soon as I hit enter.
For example, if I draw a line at 90 degrees and enter 2 (units set to millimeters), when I press enter the resulting line is  0.494mm at an angle -0.004
It's getting kind of infuriating.

The line is expecting a 2nd click or enter command.

• 1st click 
• Data bar entry
• Enter to enter the info or Tab to enter info and move to the next field
• Enter or 2nd click

It can be a little frustrating and possibly counterintuitive at first but I have got used to it and it makes sense so now doesn’t bother me....

This just seems to be a new behavior. 
I used to be able to click to start a line, enter its length and press enter. The remaining values in the floating data bar wouldn't change.
