ssheldon
Please tell me if anyone knows if I can use Vectorworks 12.01 on a MacBook Pro. I need to get a new notebook and this seems like the only apple laptop that will do an adequate job. The Vectorworks Tech says that it works on some but not on others and does not know when the upgrade will be in place Thanks Quote Link to comment
Travis
Steven, Do a search on this board for Intel Mac and/or MacBook Pro. There has been some discussion over the last month or so that might be helpful to you. Good luck, Quote Link to comment
Jeffrey W Ouellette
Steven, If I recall correctly, Nemetschek does NOT currently support any current version of their software on an Intel-based Mac. They DO NOT have a Universal Binary, nor native Intel-Mac version and DO NOT guarantee any performance under the Rosetta PPC emulation mode. I know the new hardware is waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy cool, but Apple put out hardware before most large program developers (that is developers of LARGE programs) were able to acknowledge/create compatibility. Nemetschek is not alone. IMHO you're best off getting a G4 Powerbook (17"). It will last you much longer than you might currently think. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Please review the following article regarding compatibility between VectorWorks 12 and the Intel-based Macs: http://kbase.nemetschek.net/index.php?ToDo=view&questId=91&catId=23 Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
This knowledge base rules. Good stuff. Update: when I have problems with Safari and VW help I quit Safari and click on help again. This usually solves the problem for the short term. [ 03-09-2006, 11:21 AM: Message edited by: Christiaan ] Quote Link to comment
