fixed Crash SP2: Align and distribute item tool with Lighting Devices

Hey Folks,

My Vectorworks 2017 SP2 will immediately crash when

I use the Align and distribute item tool.

Working with lighting fixtures.

 

No problems with SP1

Spotlight

Windows 10, new Alienware.

Any Ideas?

Confirmed, looks like support already filed a bug on this: VB-137989

Make sure to contact tech support directly, I hear there is a workaround available in the form of a plugin while we await a service pack to fix it.

Start by closing Vectorworks if it is open.

 

I was having the same issue and when I contacted Tech Support today this is what Alexander said. (I would post the plug in but that file extension is not allowed) 

He was very quick with the email response containing the modified plug in attached and my Align and Distribute bug is now fixed!

In this location, you will need to delete the following file:

Align and Distribute Items.vst

 

You will find a new copy of this plugin attached. Once the other one is deleted, place the new attached copy into your plugins folder, launch Vectorworks, and the issue should be fixed. This issue will hopefully be in SP3, but for now the revised plug-in will work.
