dwg export with background rendering style

grant_PD

Question

I was exporting dwgs with all of my viewports set to my standard "white model" foreground rendering and hidden line background rendering. When I opened all of the dwgs in the dwg viewer, I saw that all of the sheet layers didn't have any points to snap to, they were all just images.

How do I export a .dwg file that includes the following:

foreground render style

background hidden /dashed line rendering

sheet layers

model in 3d

Rendered viewports always export as bitmaps as far as I know with the exception of 3D PDF files exported (i.e. not printed) directly from Vectorworks from the design layers. The render settings in Vectorworks most likely cannot be translated to AutoCAD/other dwg based software as its rendering engine is different.

You can export the sheet layer and the model in 3D but the display of various viewport renders will have to be reconstructed in AutoCAD or whatever dwg based software is going to be used.
