Graphical Cue for attached Record Formats

bcd

Question

Despite the data-muscle that Record Formats deliver we have no visual cue of their existence on the drawing. (Yes the OIP lists them but very privately.)

I would like a graphical cue to indicate that a Record is attached to an object or it's embedded objects

This could take the form of eg. a little orange triangle which appears when a key combination is pressed. Similar to the Visibility tool's behavior.

Clicking said triangle would take us to a mini-Resource Browser where only the attached records are shown.

Especially when exchanging shape files (.SHP) for use in ArcGIS I do need records to be attached to the objects to describe the objects. Often quite a few objects are not symbols so records need to be attached manually and there is a chance to overlook an object.

Having a visual cue (R-symbol?) whether a record is attached to an object would be quite helpful.

Perhaps do it like Visio, where you can use an options setting to show the magnetic points or to hide them, instead of just a key combination (or have both options)
